A LONG time ago, back in the days of holding a season ticket in the old Main Stand, I had the misfortune of being stationed in front of a miserable bloke who had a serious problem with Patrik Berger. The Czech international created a hearty highlights reel of...
LIVERPOOL go 0-1 down in the wind and the hail and you wonder if they are going to break. It’s cycling up a mountain, a Tour de France stage with yellow jerseys and polkadot tops, loons running alongside the bikes. Cycling up a mountain and teeth are gritted,...
I’M saying that is The Reds’ best win of the season. It’s not an understatement to say that the weather all but tipped the balance in favour of them. Balls in the air were a coin toss, the wind was howling in some bits of the pitch, but not others. If Burnley...
I SOMETIMES wonder what we’re all in this for. Will most of us ever be happy? Is there really any meaning to any of this? What is the fucking point? Those questions have been more prominent watching a Liverpool title challenge from afar and witnessing the amount of...

“EVERYONE was looking around as if to say, ‘Is he fucking serious?’,” Glen Johnson would later reflect. For some, it’s up there as the watershed moment of Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool career. Captured in the untimely, fly-on-the-wall documentary Being: Liverpool,...
I’M starting to go off Sundays, to be honest. The last two have produced the same bright mornings and shiny optimism of what may lie ahead, only to be doused by the waters of disappointment as Liverpool fail to win away to a bitter rival, allowing said rivals – and...
