by Karl Coppack | Feb 21, 2022 | app, Featured Writing, Footie, Karl Coppack's Column

As Liverpool closed the gap on Manchester City at the top of the Premier League, what must The Reds do now to catch their title rivals?   WITH everything being equal and with an eye on the actual football rather than the shenanigans around it, Manchester City are...

Joel Matip’s Liverpool Legacy Keeps Going From Strength To Strength

by Karl Coppack | Feb 14, 2022 | app, Featured Writing, Footie, Karl Coppack's Column

When Joel Matip first arrived at Liverpool few knew what to expect, and he continues to positively surprise supporters years later…   I ENJOY the On The Whistle clips on The Anfield Wrap. If you haven’t seen them, they come, as the title suggests, at the very end...
Why Harvey Elliott’s Return Is So Important To Liverpool

Why Harvey Elliott’s Return Is So Important To Liverpool

by Karl Coppack | Feb 7, 2022 | app, Featured Writing, Footie, Karl Coppack's Column

While Harvey Elliott saw his dreams come true in his cameo against Cardiff, Liverpool will also benefit massively from the youngster’s return…   THERE’S a risk in championing young players and it seems to worsen if you get your views out too early. A...

Why Liverpool Signings Should Always Be Given Time To Settle

by Karl Coppack | Jan 31, 2022 | app, Featured Writing, Footie, Karl Coppack's Column

Footballers live completely different lives to most, but they’re still human beings and we should give new Liverpool signings time to settle…   IT’S important to remember that footballers are human beings like the rest of us. A bit obvious I know, but...
Liverpool Can No Longer Turn Their Noses Up At The League Cup

Liverpool Can No Longer Turn Their Noses Up At The League Cup

by Karl Coppack | Jan 24, 2022 | app, Featured Writing, Footie, Karl Coppack's Column

With a run to the League Cup final helping cure Liverpool’s January blues, The Reds can no longer view it as inconsequential to their season…   FOOTBALL makes hypocrites of us all. You start the season with the strongest of intentions and only the...

More Salah Contract Questions For Liverpool’s Owners

by Karl Coppack | Jan 17, 2022 | app, Featured Writing, Footie, Karl Coppack's Column

With Mo Salah’s contract frustrations rumbling on and the Liverpool unrest around it growing, should FSG’s approach be questioned yet again?   PLAYERS’ contract negotiations have always worried me. Michael Owen is responsible for much of this. In the...

Why James Milner Will Go Down As A Bonafide Liverpool Hero

by Karl Coppack | Jan 10, 2022 | app, Featured Writing, Footie, Karl Coppack's Column

With James Milner’s contract expiring at the end of the season and no renewal in sight, where will he rank among our Liverpool heroes?   PEOPLE choose their heroes in different ways. I’ve had a bundle over the years and some of them are not always as...
Liverpool & The Title Race: Why Now Is Not The Time To Down Tools

Liverpool & The Title Race: Why Now Is Not The Time To Down Tools

by Karl Coppack | Jan 3, 2022 | app, Featured Writing, Footie, Karl Coppack's Column

While Liverpool’s title race seemed to be run after their draw with Chelsea, we mustn’t down tools with so many league games left to play…   THIS is all about momentum or rather the lack of it. While The Reds have been knocked by Spurs, knocked...

With another festive Leicester City v Liverpool fixture up next, Karl Coppack explains why this trip holds a special place in his heart…   LEICESTER at the King Power will always have a special significance. To many it’s a routine fixture, more so before...
The Anfield Atmosphere: Is This A Library?

The Anfield Atmosphere: Is This A Library?

by Karl Coppack | Dec 22, 2021 | app, Featured Writing, Footie, Karl Coppack's Column

Every set of away fans that experience the Anfield atmosphere ask the same question, but do they have a right to question our support?   I’VE ummed and ahhed about writing this. It’s an uncomfortable subject and I’m probably going to get some stick for it. I know...

The Pub Crawlers Podcast: Nottingham (S1E3)

The third episode of season one of The Pub Crawlers Podcast was recorded in Nottingham, as Rob Gutmann hosts Steve Graves and Martin Fitzgerald to discuss the local pub scene, Indian restaurants, students, and more…

The Pub Crawlers Podcast represents a quest to find the very best authentic UK pubs, filmed on location inside some of the finest boozers across the UK and Ireland.

Well, sort of. It’s equally about friends having three to four pint-fuelled, quintessential pub conversations, on any subjects that damn well occur to them, in a range of outstanding boozers across the land. So, really, it’s as much about what we get up to in pubs as the pubs themselves.

The shows are presented by self-styled boozer connoisseur and long-time pub designer and owner, Rob Gutmann, who is on a mission to find the very best pubs in the UK and to define the essence of the ‘true’ pub.

Featuring a wide range of guests (mainly Rob’s mates), we’ll be visiting pubs the length and breadth of the country, bedding into the very best of them, and chatting about our lives lived in and around boozers.

The first season of the Pub Crawlers focuses on the North of England, taking in Chester, Sheffield, Manchester, Liverpool, and even a brief foray to the north side of the Midlands in Nottingham.

Plug yourself in to the ongoing conversation as it disappears down all manner of tenuously pub-related worm holes, with your new mates at TPC. And you don’t need a pint to enjoy us, but it might help…
