THE day after the night before it is still hard to comprehend what we saw last night. That Liverpool came back from a three-goal deficit from the Nou Camp to knock out the mighty Barcelona. That a cobbled together side and a few walking wounded destroyed one of the...
THERE was a moment at the end of the game where someone from BT Sport came onto the pitch, shoved a microphone under Sadio Mane’s nose and asked him a question. His response will live with me forever. He mumbled a few half-formed words then he went quiet. Then he...
I’M gonna have to apologise. Firstly, I apologise that Neil Atkinson can’t bring you these words. That you don’t get to read the absolute poetry he could conjure up in the aftermath of a whirlwind of football like that. I apologise if these words don’t do that for...
I WAS at a low ebb there before kick off. Specifically in ours all day. This shit doesn’t seem fair. I needed something, someone to get me back on track, some kind of affirmation as to why footy is the greatest thing in the world. Met the lads for four pints before...
LOSING 3-0 to Barcelona in the first leg of a Champions League semi final when arguably the better team… Lucky Scousers. Losing Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino ahead of the second leg… Lucky Scousers. Reaching 94 points in the Premier League with a game to...

THIRTY-SEVEN down. One to go. Liverpool go and win at bottom half Newcastle. They show their class over the course of the 90 minutes and… …As if you can talk about this being cut and dried. As if this is cool. As if this should become something which is...

A SEASON that has brought so much joy, a campaign of victory upon victory, of glorious football is now ebbing towards an ultimately sad conclusion. It shouldn’t be this way, but it just is. Defeat in the Nou Camp on Wednesday night was hard to take. Attempting to get...
Turning all our attention towards the Reds’ upcoming Premier League encounter with Manchester City at Anfield. Neil Atkinson is joined by Josh Sexton, Abigail Rudkin & John Gibbons.
