The reds say he is in, his agent says he’s out, but who’s fooling who in the speculation over Simon Mignolet’s future at Liverpool? Elsewhere, is the European transfer merry-go-round about to get underway? Alongside Paul Senior is Kev Walsh, Paul...
Rob Gutmann hosts Stephen Evans and Andy Heaton for a in-depth chat Liverpool’s problem position of goalkeeper and whether we are closer to solving an issue that is a constant cause of debate. Rather than just focus on the first team, we have a comprehensive...
REMEMBER the Burnley game on Boxing Day? Remember when Simon Mignolet played chicken with a backpass heading out for a corner and lost? Remember how everyone’s head exploded because the only other credible alternative for the position of Liverpool goalkeeper was a man...
HALF time and it is probably Liverpool’s best Anfield first half of the league campaign. Damning in one sense. Encouraging in another. There is tons of progress here since Sunderland. Tons of football. These footballers look like something approaching...
IT is a good job I didn’t write this immediately after the match. I was furious and frustrated. Furious for all the reasons you’d be furious: Liverpool not capitalising on their dominance, being weak as kittens in defence in key moments. Basically what we...
BRENDAN RODGERS and some of his players should be buying Mario Balotelli a pint at some point this week. It’s the least they could do for the deserved scrutiny he has unwittingly helped them to avoid. Naively swapping shirts a few seconds too early has unsurprisingly...
By David Preece CRITICISMS are to goalkeepers what cricket balls are to batsmen. You’re constantly fending them off. Sometimes the criticisms hit hard and leave a bruise on your confidence that can take a while to disperse, only massaged away by a combination of...
AT his pre-West Ham press conference, Brendan Rodgers suggested that he was rather irked by all the ‘experts’ voicing their opinions on the way his team plays. That is perfectly understandable. However, I am not an expert, so here’s what I think. It...
THAT is why Pepe Reina isn’t here any more. Simon Mignolet can be criticised for many things. The continued lack of improvement in his kicking is infuriating. His unconvincing juggling of crosses jangles the nerves. The lack of presence he exudes compared to his...
SIMON MIGNOLET, Jordan Henderson, Kolo Toure and Philippe Coutinho were called up by the club to help launch the new 2014-15 LFC home kit at an event in Liverpool city centre. After emerging from a shipping container outside the Hilton, the trio of outfield players...

The Pub Crawlers Podcast: Nottingham (S1E3)
The third episode of season one of The Pub Crawlers Podcast was recorded in Nottingham, as Rob Gutmann hosts Steve Graves and Martin Fitzgerald to discuss the local pub scene, Indian restaurants, students, and more…
The Pub Crawlers Podcast represents a quest to find the very best authentic UK pubs, filmed on location inside some of the finest boozers across the UK and Ireland.
Well, sort of. It’s equally about friends having three to four pint-fuelled, quintessential pub conversations, on any subjects that damn well occur to them, in a range of outstanding boozers across the land. So, really, it’s as much about what we get up to in pubs as the pubs themselves.
The shows are presented by self-styled boozer connoisseur and long-time pub designer and owner, Rob Gutmann, who is on a mission to find the very best pubs in the UK and to define the essence of the ‘true’ pub.
Featuring a wide range of guests (mainly Rob’s mates), we’ll be visiting pubs the length and breadth of the country, bedding into the very best of them, and chatting about our lives lived in and around boozers.
The first season of the Pub Crawlers focuses on the North of England, taking in Chester, Sheffield, Manchester, Liverpool, and even a brief foray to the north side of the Midlands in Nottingham.
Plug yourself in to the ongoing conversation as it disappears down all manner of tenuously pub-related worm holes, with your new mates at TPC. And you don’t need a pint to enjoy us, but it might help…
