IN a world of neverending bickering and “banter”, of crisis seeking and an insatiable hunger for headlines that detail it all going wrong, perspective around football can be severely lacking at times. Bill Shankly – with tongue firmly placed in cheek, no doubt –...
Jurgen Klopp has been at Liverpool for three years. There have been lots of brilliant nights, but no trophies to show for it….yet. So how do we assess his impact and what does he need to do next to turn potential until silverware? Joining John Gibbons to answer...
THIS time last year, Liverpool’s first-choice full-backs were Joe Gomez and Alberto Moreno. Turn the clock forward five years from now and it wouldn’t be a surprise if Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson were still the men in possession. It already feels like...
YOU can blame the pitch. You can blame the lack of changes from the weekend. You can blame Jürgen Klopp’s tactics on the night, or that he refused to make a positive substitution until it was too late. Whatever avenue of finger pointing you choose to explore,...
BIG deep breath… Are you ready? Here we go. A huge month of football awaits, one many have described as possibly season defining in its infancy for Liverpool. Yet this is indicative of the levels set by this season’s quest for domestic and European supremacy....
WE stand in front of a massive month in Liverpool’s season and Jürgen Klopp wants to know the lads who start for Liverpool are ready for the challenge. Months don’t come much harder than the one in front of us. Tottenham Hotspur, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea twice....
LIVERPOOL have flickered through the first wave of games collecting all 12 points. Jürgen Klopp looks closer to his masterpiece than ever, having curated a tasteful gallery of players. A squad deep with strength and with competitions for every space. The absence of...
IT has been a terrific start to the season for Liverpool. With so much hype and hope in pre season, it was vital that Jürgen Klopp’s tricky Reds got off to a flyer, and they did just that with four wins out of four in the opening month of the campaign. However,...
THERE was a moment during Saturday’s game at Leicester when Alisson comfortably saved an awkward-looking effort from Demarai Gray that had squirmed through Joe Gomez’s legs. Gomez, who was excellent throughout and has rightly been showered with praise for his...

The third episode of season one of The Pub Crawlers Podcast was recorded in Nottingham, as Rob Gutmann hosts Steve Graves and Martin Fitzgerald to discuss the local pub scene, Indian restaurants, students, and more…
The Pub Crawlers Podcast represents a quest to find the very best authentic UK pubs, filmed on location inside some of the finest boozers across the UK and Ireland.
Well, sort of. It’s equally about friends having three to four pint-fuelled, quintessential pub conversations, on any subjects that damn well occur to them, in a range of outstanding boozers across the land. So, really, it’s as much about what we get up to in pubs as the pubs themselves.
The shows are presented by self-styled boozer connoisseur and long-time pub designer and owner, Rob Gutmann, who is on a mission to find the very best pubs in the UK and to define the essence of the ‘true’ pub.
Featuring a wide range of guests (mainly Rob’s mates), we’ll be visiting pubs the length and breadth of the country, bedding into the very best of them, and chatting about our lives lived in and around boozers.
The first season of the Pub Crawlers focuses on the North of England, taking in Chester, Sheffield, Manchester, Liverpool, and even a brief foray to the north side of the Midlands in Nottingham.
Plug yourself in to the ongoing conversation as it disappears down all manner of tenuously pub-related worm holes, with your new mates at TPC. And you don’t need a pint to enjoy us, but it might help…
