“I am confident we will improve the team further and will be stronger for this coming season, when we will be competing on all fronts; domestically and in the greatest club competition in the world, the Champions League.” Brendan Rodgers 11th July 2014 “We lost a...
IT’S been four long years since Christian Purslow pumped his fist and bared his gnashers in triumph outside the High Court in London. Four long years since Liverpool Football Club passed from one set of American owners to the next. Four testing years since the club...
I MIGHT as well tell you now – this isn’t going to be popular. Four years ago today, Fenway Sports Group/New England Sports Ventures took over Liverpool Football Club and delivered us from evil. For many it was like the last few minutes of Return of the Jedi....
By David Lynch I DIDN’T WORRY at all last summer. Nope. The ‘Great Spurs Splurge of 2013’ never once raised even mild trepidation in me. Back then, we were regularly informed that Tottenham had constructed a team to end Liverpool’s top four...
SHOULD Liverpool win the title this season (as seems increasingly likely), then along with the plaudits given to the manager and the players, there will be many who also credit FSG with the turnaround in the club’s fortunes, writes JIM KEOGHAN. After all, when they...
“(the) long run is a misleading guide to current affairs. In the long run we are all dead. Economists set themselves too easy, too useless a task if in tempestuous seasons they can only tell us that when the storm is past the ocean is flat again.” John Maynard Keynes...

The third episode of season one of The Pub Crawlers Podcast was recorded in Nottingham, as Rob Gutmann hosts Steve Graves and Martin Fitzgerald to discuss the local pub scene, Indian restaurants, students, and more…
The Pub Crawlers Podcast represents a quest to find the very best authentic UK pubs, filmed on location inside some of the finest boozers across the UK and Ireland.

The shows are presented by self-styled boozer connoisseur and long-time pub designer and owner, Rob Gutmann, who is on a mission to find the very best pubs in the UK and to define the essence of the ‘true’ pub.
Featuring a wide range of guests (mainly Rob’s mates), we’ll be visiting pubs the length and breadth of the country, bedding into the very best of them, and chatting about our lives lived in and around boozers.
The first season of the Pub Crawlers focuses on the North of England, taking in Chester, Sheffield, Manchester, Liverpool, and even a brief foray to the north side of the Midlands in Nottingham.
Plug yourself in to the ongoing conversation as it disappears down all manner of tenuously pub-related worm holes, with your new mates at TPC. And you don’t need a pint to enjoy us, but it might help…
