MICHAEL Edwards is a name on a lot of Liverpool supporters’ lips. You’d find it hard to argue that praise for him and his crack team of transfer gurus — with manager Jürgen Klopp in tow — is undeserved. When Dominic Solanke was sold to Bournemouth for £19m...
THAT is one of the maddest 1-0s I’ve ever seen. When fate seemed to want to conspire against The Reds on the night, they stood up in the face of adversity and every single one of them were absolutely accounted for. Tonight they made the impact which counts most of...
IT was a routine win for Liverpool on the south coast, but not as you know it. Pundits and “experts” may look back on the game as one where Liverpool cruised to an easy victory, without acknowledging the near perfection this Liverpool team are achieving....
“TO play for Liverpool is the dream, the aim, and I can’t see it changing, to be fair. “To say I have done that for the whole of my career is something I have dreamed of being able to say.” Trent Alexander Arnold’s quotes about becoming Liverpool’s next...
JÜRGEN Klopp has done so much good since he took over three years ago. The German has established an identity that was missing for so long. He has got the supporters back onside after years of continued disillusionment caused by questionable decisions at board level....
WASN’T the prettiest at times that, was it? Still, there was nothing better than sticking it to Cardiff’s weird support — completely obsessed with libraries, the employment rate in Liverpool and a Steven Gerrard mistake that cost Liverpool the...
“HE gets forward and he shoots, he takes freekicks as a teenager in the Champions League. “That tells you he’s not only got the confidence in himself, his teammates have confidence in him and that is huge.” Confidence is a strange concept in football....
LIVERPOOL answered a few questions and raised a few new ones at the John Smith’s stadium. Jürgen Klopp was the manager who rotated the most last season in the Premier League, but we haven’t seen anywhere near as much of that this campaign. That all changed...
“IF it is an open game at Anfield, you don’t even have one chance, not even one per cent of a chance. “Up and down I’m pretty sure they are the best team in the world in these transitions, offensive, defensive. It is built for that. In that situation, they are...
YOU can blame the pitch. You can blame the lack of changes from the weekend. You can blame Jürgen Klopp’s tactics on the night, or that he refused to make a positive substitution until it was too late. Whatever avenue of finger pointing you choose to explore,...
The third episode of season one of The Pub Crawlers Podcast was recorded in Nottingham, as Rob Gutmann hosts Steve Graves and Martin Fitzgerald to discuss the local pub scene, Indian restaurants, students, and more…
The Pub Crawlers Podcast represents a quest to find the very best authentic UK pubs, filmed on location inside some of the finest boozers across the UK and Ireland.
Well, sort of. It’s equally about friends having three to four pint-fuelled, quintessential pub conversations, on any subjects that damn well occur to them, in a range of outstanding boozers across the land. So, really, it’s as much about what we get up to in pubs as the pubs themselves.
The shows are presented by self-styled boozer connoisseur and long-time pub designer and owner, Rob Gutmann, who is on a mission to find the very best pubs in the UK and to define the essence of the ‘true’ pub.
Featuring a wide range of guests (mainly Rob’s mates), we’ll be visiting pubs the length and breadth of the country, bedding into the very best of them, and chatting about our lives lived in and around boozers.
The first season of the Pub Crawlers focuses on the North of England, taking in Chester, Sheffield, Manchester, Liverpool, and even a brief foray to the north side of the Midlands in Nottingham.
Plug yourself in to the ongoing conversation as it disappears down all manner of tenuously pub-related worm holes, with your new mates at TPC. And you don’t need a pint to enjoy us, but it might help…
