ANDRIY VORONIN and Peter Crouch probably aren’t a strike partnership that anyone would expect to lead a team to a rout in European competition, much less to the Champions League’s biggest ever margin of victory. Sometimes real life is truly stranger than fiction....
“I am confident we will improve the team further and will be stronger for this coming season, when we will be competing on all fronts; domestically and in the greatest club competition in the world, the Champions League.” Brendan Rodgers 11th July 2014 “We lost a...
TWELVE years have passed since Rafael Benitez first introduced himself to Anfield. And what an introduction this was. The Spaniard arrived on Merseyside for a Champions League clash with his Valencia team on this very date back in 2002. The then reigning champions of...

LIVERPOOL under perform. They need a holding midfielder. Liverpool lose. They need a holding midfielder. Liverpool lose two on the bounce. They are crying out for a holding midfielder. There’s a problem here between what people want and the reality which is in...

CHAMPIONS League nights are back. I’m later than I want to be, having stuff to do and then tickets to sort. But it works out well, getting up the stairs just as You’ll Never Walk Alone is starting. The Kop looks and sounds terrific. There is a We Are...
EVERYONE remembers their first game don’t they? I think I’ve told you mine but I’ll tell you again. May 1990, I’d just turned 8 years old, and my dad had two tickets for Liverpool vs QPR at Anfield. When he showed me them they may as well have...
ON the TAW podcast in the aftermath of Liverpool’s defeat to Manchester City, Neil Atkinson and I debated the merits of using Steven Gerrard as a defensive midfielder. My argument was – and remains – that Gerrard is one of Liverpool’s best natural finishers. He can...

The Pub Crawlers Podcast: Down The Local with Mo Stewart (S1E5)
The fifth episode of season one of The Pub Crawlers Podcast was recorded ‘Down The Local’ in Liverpool, as Rob Gutmann hosts Steve Graves and Mo Stewart to discuss worst pub toilet experiences, music in pubs, Glastonbury, and more…
The Pub Crawlers Podcast represents a quest to find the very best authentic UK pubs, filmed on location inside some of the finest boozers across the UK and Ireland.
Well, sort of. It’s equally about friends having three to four pint-fuelled, quintessential pub conversations, on any subjects that damn well occur to them, in a range of outstanding boozers across the land. So, really, it’s as much about what we get up to in pubs as the pubs themselves.
The shows are presented by self-styled boozer connoisseur and long-time pub designer and owner, Rob Gutmann, who is on a mission to find the very best pubs in the UK and to define the essence of the ‘true’ pub.
Featuring a wide range of guests (mainly Rob’s mates), we’ll be visiting pubs the length and breadth of the country, bedding into the very best of them, and chatting about our lives lived in and around boozers.
The first season of the Pub Crawlers focuses on the North of England, taking in Chester, Sheffield, Manchester, Liverpool, and even a brief foray to the north side of the Midlands in Nottingham.
Plug yourself in to the ongoing conversation as it disappears down all manner of tenuously pub-related worm holes, with your new mates at TPC. And you don’t need a pint to enjoy us, but it might help…
