I’VE watched last Thursday about 20 times. The Lov leaping like a salmon out of the Kupa river and sending the Kop into raptures. Not a clue if they even have salmon in Croatia but you get my point: He jumped dead high and he’s Croatian. I’m struggling to figure...
I CAN’T stop thinking about Thursday night. Specifically, I can’t stop thinking about one bit in particular. The game poised at 3-3, Liverpool have heroically fought back to be one crucial moment, one strike, one goal from another historic night. The Reds win a...
ANFIELD Wrap regular Ian Salmon is putting fingers to the keyboard after every Liverpool match this season for a new book that will document a campaign that already has included a change of manager, the signing of the second most expensive player in the history of the...
WE’RE hoping for some weather. Seven men in a van going for a knees-up in a seaside town. The life the Reds give you. I’m getting this done at half six on the morning before the game. Getting picked up in three hours. Driving down in handsome John Gibbons’...
THE board had just gone up showing four minutes of added time as Daniel Sturridge fed James Milner in the penalty area, writes JOEL RABINOWITZ. His first touch was heavy, just keeping the ball in play as he floated the ball to the back post, where Dejan Lovren,...
IT is a Friday Show for a Saturday afternoon and what a Friday Show it is. Looking back on Liverpool’s astonishing victory against Borussia Dortmund are Neil Atkinson, Rob Gutmann, Sean Rogers and Bryn Law. Where do you start? At the end, when Dejan...
WHO can believe it. Those Reds. Those Tricky Reds. Liverpool were outplayed and outclassed. Someone needed to show them the way to go home. I said to competition winner Tom that we didn’t want to score before half time. Once we were losing by two our best chance...
ALL right, everyone. Here’s five thoughts on that Liverpool game that’s just happened. 1) Me, me, me I woke up in London this morning, had lunch in Nottingham, and arrived in Liverpool at about 6:30pm. Weighed down by travelling, and an inbox that never...

WHAT a week. What a gang of lads. What a set of Reds. Did you have a little cry? I know I did. 4-3 and I am full of joy, that angry joy, that ‘stitch that’ joy, that joy unconfined, that joy that is the language of heaven with the noise of hell, that joy...
The Pub Crawlers Podcast: Down The Local with Mo Stewart (S1E5)
The fifth episode of season one of The Pub Crawlers Podcast was recorded ‘Down The Local’ in Liverpool, as Rob Gutmann hosts Steve Graves and Mo Stewart to discuss worst pub toilet experiences, music in pubs, Glastonbury, and more…
The Pub Crawlers Podcast represents a quest to find the very best authentic UK pubs, filmed on location inside some of the finest boozers across the UK and Ireland.
Well, sort of. It’s equally about friends having three to four pint-fuelled, quintessential pub conversations, on any subjects that damn well occur to them, in a range of outstanding boozers across the land. So, really, it’s as much about what we get up to in pubs as the pubs themselves.
The shows are presented by self-styled boozer connoisseur and long-time pub designer and owner, Rob Gutmann, who is on a mission to find the very best pubs in the UK and to define the essence of the ‘true’ pub.
Featuring a wide range of guests (mainly Rob’s mates), we’ll be visiting pubs the length and breadth of the country, bedding into the very best of them, and chatting about our lives lived in and around boozers.
The first season of the Pub Crawlers focuses on the North of England, taking in Chester, Sheffield, Manchester, Liverpool, and even a brief foray to the north side of the Midlands in Nottingham.
Plug yourself in to the ongoing conversation as it disappears down all manner of tenuously pub-related worm holes, with your new mates at TPC. And you don’t need a pint to enjoy us, but it might help…
