TWO years ago this week Jürgen Klopp took the managerial reigns at Liverpool, four days after Brendan Rodgers was sacked. To celebrate two years of Klopp, here’s an exclusive extract from David Segar’s new book “Kloppite: One Man’s Quest to...
HAS anyone ever accidentally stolen someone else’s Uber ride before? I did it once. I’m not proud of it and I’m not sure why I’m telling you, but when Gibbo asked me to write this piece I really struggled to know where to start. I want to do that night justice. It was...
YOU would think that Sunday’s result sealed a full season undefeated against the other members of the Premier League’s top six for the 2016-17 season. I write that slightly tentatively as Everton appear to be finishing reasonably strongly while Arsenal are imploding...
SADIO Mane believes the timing of his move to Liverpool was perfect, despite having the opportunity to sign for Jürgen Klopp’s Dortmund back in 2014. The Senegalese forward is the Reds’ top scorer this season with 12 goals, while his pace has added another dimension...
THE reporting of Liverpool’s renewed interest in Mario Gotze (by the unimpeachable Melissa Reddy) was roundly greeted with a consensus of eye rolling and head shaking by the Liverpool FC nation. Why do we want he who didn’t want us, and has turned out to be a dreadful...
Middlesbrough Team News EMRE Can and Dejan Lovren will undergo late tests to assess their fitness ahead of Liverpool’s trip to the Riverside Stadium. Can sustained a minor knee injury which saw him ruled out of Sunday’s 2-2 draw with West Ham, meanwhile...
NOW that I have a weekly article on these pages you’ll soon realise that I’m a fan of quotes. Mainly quotes to motivate me and quotes to remind me that nothing we’re experiencing is very new at all. My uncle said to me a few nights ago...
WE know lots of you listen to our free podcasts but have never made the jump to TAW Player, our subscription Liverpool FC podcast feed. Today, we bring you The Pink, our immediate post-match reaction show. There are no rules, it’s mad, people are full of emotion...
THIS was originally a TAW Player show but, as today is the 15th year anniversary of our UEFA Cup victory against Alaves we have decided to put it out for free. Hope you enjoy! Gareth Roberts and John Gibbons were joined by Tony Barrett and Dave Rawcliffe in a...
FIRST things first. I’m struggling to accept it was 40 years ago today that Liverpool won the first leg of this final at Anfield. Sorry, but it’s not possible. It just isn’t. Because that means I am hurtling through middle age at a rate Mo Farah would struggle to keep...
The Pub Crawlers Podcast: Down The Local with Mo Stewart (S1E5)
The fifth episode of season one of The Pub Crawlers Podcast was recorded ‘Down The Local’ in Liverpool, as Rob Gutmann hosts Steve Graves and Mo Stewart to discuss worst pub toilet experiences, music in pubs, Glastonbury, and more…
The Pub Crawlers Podcast represents a quest to find the very best authentic UK pubs, filmed on location inside some of the finest boozers across the UK and Ireland.
Well, sort of. It’s equally about friends having three to four pint-fuelled, quintessential pub conversations, on any subjects that damn well occur to them, in a range of outstanding boozers across the land. So, really, it’s as much about what we get up to in pubs as the pubs themselves.
The shows are presented by self-styled boozer connoisseur and long-time pub designer and owner, Rob Gutmann, who is on a mission to find the very best pubs in the UK and to define the essence of the ‘true’ pub.
Featuring a wide range of guests (mainly Rob’s mates), we’ll be visiting pubs the length and breadth of the country, bedding into the very best of them, and chatting about our lives lived in and around boozers.
The first season of the Pub Crawlers focuses on the North of England, taking in Chester, Sheffield, Manchester, Liverpool, and even a brief foray to the north side of the Midlands in Nottingham.
Plug yourself in to the ongoing conversation as it disappears down all manner of tenuously pub-related worm holes, with your new mates at TPC. And you don’t need a pint to enjoy us, but it might help…
