Middlesbrough Team News
EMRE Can and Dejan Lovren will undergo late tests to assess their fitness ahead of Liverpool’s trip to the Riverside Stadium.
Can sustained a minor knee injury which saw him ruled out of Sunday’s 2-2 draw with West Ham, meanwhile Lovren was substituted at half-time due to cramp in the hamstring area.
The definite absentees include Marko Grujic, Daniel Sturridge, Philippe Coutinho and Danny Ings.
Klopp: We Can Still Challenge
JÜRGEN Klopp has insisted he is remaining calm despite a recent dip in form and believes his side can stay in contention until the end.
“Around the last 10 games you need to be in a position to fight for something. I think we have showed we need to be in a position in the table at the very top because we are good enough to be there. Only the teams who are there can fight for the very special things in these moments.
“If the gap is getting bigger because of our results, it’s our fault, but we don’t think about the distance between us and other teams — we only think about the next game. And hopefully in a few weeks everything can change in both directions. Why should I think about only one direction? It’s all good in the moment.”
Is right. By no means out of this yet, Reds.
Dortmund Warn Reds Over Pulisic
BORUSSIA Dortmund have issued another hands off warning over Christian Pulisic.
The 18-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Merseyside but the Bundesliga side are reluctant to let go of the youngster.
Dortmund’s Director of Sport, Michael Zorc, insisted: “We have made it quite clear that we are not going to sell Christian and that we are planning with him. Liverpool can save the effort of making an offer.”
Reckon they’re worried, you know.
Klavan To Cure Central Headache
WHILE an injury to Lovren is obviously bad news, it might mean we get to see even more of this against Boro…
