A four part Radio City Talk show with more comings and goings than Lime Street Station. You really need your wits about you to keep up. The bread in an all action sandwich this week are John Gibbons, Philippa Smallwood, Jay McKenna and Paul Senior. They focus on...
“AS flies to wanton boys are we to th’ gods, they kill us for their sport.” King Lear. As ever, this may not seem, initially at least, to be about football in general or Liverpool in particular but we’ll get there. First we need to talk about Shakespeare. At some...
LIVERPOOL’S newly acquired habit of winning ugly, predominantly away from home, in the recent tussles at Stoke City, West Brom and Watford has coincided with a form of redemption for Simon Mignolet. The goalkeeper, much maligned by fans and pundits alike throughout...
AND we’re back. I’m back. Liverpool are back. This is a status that needs constant updating. From the low of losing grumpily at home to Crystal Palace to the unbridled ecstasy of our thrill ride of a victory over Watford. What a roller coaster ride the...
ON this week’s Team Talk, Josh Sexton is joined by Gareth Roberts, Craig Hannan and Ian Ryan for a chat about Liverpool’s game against Southampton on Sunday. Later John Gibbons is joined by US LFC fans Aimee and Zach, in Liverpool for the first time and...
I HAVE no idea where to start with this, to be honest. I often start the night before, but as the night before Watford started about Wednesday I’m not sure either of us want to relive all that. You out of boredom, me out of self-loathing. Let’s start on...
This week John Gibbons focuses on some football clubs steeped in tradition who are experiencing life at the sharp end of football Firstly James Masters gives us an update on what is going on at Leyton Orient as they are relegated from The Football League and face a...
FOLLOWING Liverpool’s gloriously gritty and dogged 1-0 victory at Vicarage Road on Monday night, there was a general sense of immense satisfaction at another major hurdle successfully negotiated in the quest to secure Champions League football. This was the kind...

The first episode of season one of The Pub Crawlers Podcast was recorded in Chester at The Cross Keys pub, as Rob Gutmann hosts James Sutton and Fenner Pearson to discuss what makes a public house truly authentic, first dates in boozers, and more…
The Pub Crawlers Podcast represents a quest to find the very best authentic UK pubs, filmed on location inside some of the finest boozers across the UK and Ireland.
Well, sort of. It’s equally about friends having three to four pint-fuelled, quintessential pub conversations, on any subjects that damn well occur to them, in a range of outstanding boozers across the land. So, really, it’s as much about what we get up to in pubs as the pubs themselves.
The shows are presented by self-styled boozer connoisseur and long-time pub designer and owner, Rob Gutmann, who is on a mission to find the very best pubs in the UK and to define the essence of the ‘true’ pub.
Featuring a wide range of guests (mainly Rob’s mates), we’ll be visiting pubs the length and breadth of the country, bedding into the very best of them, and chatting about our lives lived in and around boozers.
The first season of the Pub Crawlers focuses on the North of England, taking in Chester, Sheffield, Manchester, Liverpool, and even a brief foray to the north side of the Midlands in Nottingham.
Plug yourself in to the ongoing conversation as it disappears down all manner of tenuously pub-related worm holes, with your new mates at TPC. And you don’t need a pint to enjoy us, but it might help…
