Nat Phillips is unveiled as the winner of The Anfield Wrap’s Embodiment of Liverpool FC award 2021, as Josh Sexton hosts our reaction podcast.

In 2019 The Anfield Wrap set up the Embodiment of Liverpool FC award to celebrate the player who most encapsulates what a Liverpool player should be.

This means a certain level of quality on the pitch, of course. But also commitment, dedication and desire. They should show passion on the pitch and humility off it.

They should be like one of us, but well better at footy. They should give everything for the shirt, the fans and their teammates.

Andy Robertson and Jordan Henderson took home the two previous years’ awards, but this time it’s Nat Phillips who scoops the award for his never-say-die demeanour on the field and his determined attitude off it.

Nat speaks to The Anfield Wrap about his family’s influence, the support from Jurgen Klopp and his teammates, playing during the pandemic, fighting the good fight off the field and what the future holds for him.

Congratulations to Nat Phillips for taking home the award, and thanks to everybody who voted!
