Leeds 0 Liverpool 3 at Elland Road

Mo Salah scores his 100th Premier League goal as Liverpool were in complete control with a series of excellent performances. It could have been more as the reds ran wild at Elland Road.

Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, Thiago, Fabinho, Virgil Van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joel Matip were exceptional. The horrendous tackle on Harvey Elliot impacted the momentum for the eds, but we bounced back looking for more.

The Foundation – Our Backline and Midfield Spine

Alisson Becker was outstanding again popping up at key moments. Our midfield and defensive spine were immense. Fabinho was absolutely tremendous, imposing himself, seamlessly dropping into to the back line to provide cover to attacking players.

Thiago grew and grew with every touch of the ball. Matip was exuberant, and somehow still responsible when at full fitness there should be no doubt Matip is world class. His partnership with Van Dijk was imperious.

The panel discusses a study of confidence between two of our phenomenal strikers – Mohamed Salah’s composure on and off the ball was insane. Junior Firpo will be having nightmares of Salah twisting and turning for a long time.
Sadio Mane looked hesitant, like a world class player struggling to find his form. The right chance finally fell for him, and it was hugely important for him to get a goal.

Harvey Elliot Injury – The Reds Wish Him Well

From inside the ground, people could see it was a bad challenge but not the extent of  things. People watching at home were aware that the challenge was terrible but the replay of the challenge was deemed too graphic to be televised.

The biggest indication of the extent of the challenge was the look on Mo Salah’s face, and the medics rushing onto the pitch before the referee even had a chance to stop the game.

When a player is 18 years old, and living their dream starting for Liverpool – it shakes the soul to see it taken from him. The frustration with the referees for allowing a series of dangerous tackles to go unpunished right away was a recurring event on Sunday, and some are calling on referees to take immediate action for reckless challenges instead of deferring to VAR.

Harvey will be missed, he’s been sent so many well wishes by his teammates who affectionately call him ‘little brotha.’ Without him, Liverpool’s midfield and front three options are reduced.
The only positive was the quick response from the medical team, and despite the frustration with some Leeds fans a lot of them applauded him as he was stretchered off.

A Look Ahead for LFC

Liverpool look set up to potentially take 60 points from the bottom 10. We look formidable due to the return of our favored CB partnership with Virgil Van Dijk and Joel Matip, plus with Alisson Becker in goal we have very few question marks at the back compared to last season.
The reds have been creating chances, and if everyone stays fit, an extended goal drought seems unlikely.
Liverpool vs AC Milan in the Champons League? We’ve all heard of them. It should be a wonderful atmosphere on Wednesday as AC Milan makes their first ever trip to Anfield. The panel discusses what changes will be made for the reds.
