Not sure if you have noticed but Liverpool are a bit rubbish at the minute.
A considerable number want us to sack the manager. Chelsea and Manchester United have sacked their managers and won their last two league games. Which is given as further and in many ways understandable evidence we should do the same.
But FGS will argue that Liverpool have been more successful than both of those clubs in the last 10 years despite spending less because they act smarter. Whilst United and Chelsea (and others) make rash decisions, theirs are considered. That, if you want to win, acting more like United and Chelsea is a very bad, very expensive, idea.
So is holding your nerve when it gets tough necessary for long term success? Or just a thing we have convinced ourselves is smart. FSG are cautious but have sacked several LFC managers. So when do you decide you have backed the wrong horse?
And when does short term pain make long term gain tougher? How much pain can Liverpool tolerate before the long term just gets derailed anyway?
How much can the fans take? The players?
