Katie Stengel will leave Liverpool this summer, so we’re releasing our player profile documentary about her journey to The Reds to celebrate the Stateside superstar who brought smiles back to Merseyside…

To help tell the story we first speak to Tony DaLuz, Katie’s head coach at Wake Forest University in North Carolina, where she made her journey from Florida to start out life as a student-athlete and got herself ready for a long and successful professional career.

We also speak to Vivianne Miedema, the Arsenal forward and two-time FIFA World XI appearance maker, who played alongside Stengel during a very fruitful year-long spell at Bayern Munich – her first foray into Europe in which she scored nine goals in 20 appearances.

Finally, we take a look back at Katie’s return to the United States that eventually led her to Liverpool – via several loan spells in Australia to ensure she could play all-year round – and journalist Theo Lloyd-Hughes remembers how she had used that time to transform into a big personality, on and off the pitch.
