Here’s what the manager had to say…

On training: “If you want to achieve big things, you have to focus on the small things. We don’t prepare differently if we go away to Preston or away to Man United. You see that in the mentality of the players. Training is so intense, so difficult for the starters. Show our fans our hunger, our desire, our way. That’s the only way to be consistent.”

On The Academy: “Our academy is constantly producing new players. Every international break we take time to view them, there is always one or two surprises. If we can continue to produce our own players with the values of Liverpool, then we are always a step ahead.”

“VAR is there to make the game honest, to protect players. It was a bad tackle on Naby but it’s just a bruise. It’s looking better and better.”
