Villas Boas an ‘exceptional coach’?
Yes. Not an exceptional manager though.
Ive just listen to this post and Rob mentions this and it isn’t the first I have heard from various people about time keeping and that they want a match reduced to 75 minutes and the ref to make stoppages. Why can’t we keep the game a 90 minutes with the ref keeping time better. I get that the ball at the moment is in play for around 75 mins now but isn’t footie supposed to be a 90 mins game. I mean rugby is a lot more physical and lasts for 80 mins and I can players get pain enough at the moment with out giving them an excuse for doing less.
It really struck me in a negative way how resigned Klopp looked during the 2nd half. When we don’t press well, we don’t play well & with the enthusiasm lacking on the pitch, it was disconcerting to see the main man look almost sheepish.
Sean Rogers is 100% spot on about Moreno (after being caught out of position) still being able to block West Brom’s first if he’s braver and better. Another key thing is when he gets to Rodriguez, he’s just a yard away. If he could use his right foot – which he can’t, it’s just for standing on, he can stretch and block. But because he still has this dreadful diving in with his wrong foot thing, I reckon he knows it would look bad if he did that and was then done by a sidestep. And so he does nothing. result – goal.
I’m not one to rag on individuals but this fella is one of the worst defenders I have ever seen for the club. Culpable to some degree for every goal in terms of poor positioning, poor decision-making, poor awareness. Dreadful.
