I get the Emre Can talk but Coutinho was absolutely useless today. He hasn’t been the same player since he came back from his injury.
Sometimes what you see isn’t what happens. Barnes won exactly 1 attacking aerial duel (1/7). Origin won only 3/17 (ugh).
We were better than them but just Burnley. They asked no quarter and gave none.
Very much an early eighties game, your front two not firing or marshalled out of the game and this is when you need that extra runner from midfield or someone to blam it in from outside the box. Hendersons goal against Chelsea & Can yesterday show how important these type of goals are and we don’t score enough of them, since Burnley away we have not shot enough from edge of the area, tried to walk it in to the net which is hard against a well drilled team
Mignolet dominates his box and makes a couple of good punches and Philippa questions if we need to buy a new keeper!!?
For crying out loud. Listen to what people like Sean Rogers say about Mignolet if you can’t trust your own eyes. He has so many flaws in his game without being brilliant at any. When people say he’s a great shot stopper it’s just lazy and an absolute fallacy. All keepers are good shot stoppers ALL KEEPERS it’s the one thing they have to be able to do but it stands out more with Mignolet because he is so poor in all other areas. The guy has less balls than Origi and that’s saying something.
Can scored the winner and was debated.
Mig’s played well and was similarly chewed over.
Klavan and Clyne too…
There’s a massive Coutinho sized elephant in the room and….. nothing.
The fella has been a waste of space this year, got 3/10 off JPearce in the Echo, and got subbed for a 17 year old kid.
I know it’s the pink, with limited time to discuss all players but i think his contribution warranted a mention, as dire as it was.
Looking forward to the Tuesday review.
