This is one of my favourite shows. I hope this is a regular thing. As an aside I’m glad you didn’t mix in the commentary audio because I have it playing in my browser and have the volume low and can hear it, so wouldn’t worry too much about it. Brilliant content.
My last night in Liverpool! I moved the very next morning. With a sore head.
I sometimes wonder if the tricky reds conspired to give me this magnificent send off.
Probably not.
Great night though :)
Great stuff lads. Kenny’s sides were more direct than Bob’s (oddly Bob’s look more modern, somehow). Barnes we all know about, but what about Ronnie Whelan? He plays throughout like a modern holding midfielder: all vertical passes, quick releases, great touch, great anticipation. So underrated and this was the re-invented, post-injury Whelan.
Great stuff lads,
Really enjoy this feature during the tedious International football break.
I love the big match, it’s one of the best shows on TAW. I was always gutted that I only caught the very end of Barnes and Nicol in the 90s. In all the videos I’ve seen from that mid-late 80s team, those two look streets ahead of everyone else.
