NEIL ATKINSON is joined by Sean Rogers and Mike Girling for this weeks Tuesday Review as they attempt to analyse what went wrong at St James Park.
Why were the Reds so disjointed? Just one of those days or is their a fundamental problem up front with the Benteke/Firmino partnership?
Can it be fixed and did Jürgen Klopp’s double change tell a story of a frustrated manager.
Or was it a simple as a bad case of collective ‘fear’?
Not the most enlightening Tuesday Review I’ve had the pleasure to listen to.
I may be wrong, but I would be very surprised to find out any one of the three participants had actually watched the game over, knowing the outcome, for purposes of analysis.
Did you actually watch the game again for purposes of analysis, or did you go off your memories and stats?
Too much repetition of immediate post-match ‘fewming’ and way, way, way too many factually unsupported generalizations, in my view.
Bit harsh that. I enjoyed the conversation on the forwards. Their capacity to work together and break weaker teams down will define our season.
Good show, Mike’s a welcome addition, more willing to challenge Sean than Paul C. Thought you were a bit harsh on Ibe: he was looking to unload but no-one was moving. He’s shown he does know when to release on several occasions this season, but needs movement ahead of him. Sean did reference the lack of movement but it needs to be emphasised.
