They also go through the rest of the Premier League’s results on a weekend which suggests almost everything will be decided before the final day on this weeks ‘The Coach Home’.
I was in with the Middlesbrough fans (i was at university there so travelled down with some of them) for the league cup semi in ’98.
Was right in the midst of their boot boys right behind the goal so had a word with a steward to see if I could go in the lower centenary or even main stand as there was loads of room – 33 thousand crowd – was told no, so let him know if I got jumped ‘it’s your fault’. The prick
Anyway I thought if we score I’ll keep quiet for self preservation. They score first at the kop end first half and they quite rightly go mental jumping all over us, i get annoyed. Then about a minute later with me still mightily pissed off Redknapp scores a beauty right in the top corner from about 25 yards out and I react. If you can find it on YouTube you can clearly see me punching the air and then freezing completely still. Thankfully no one around me got onto it and I got out in one piece. Wouldn’t recommend it though
