Andy Robertson has faced criticism after another high-profile mistake against Fulham, but are discussions about his future premature? I LOVE Steve Nicol. I’ve never shied away from that view, though, whenever I’ve mentioned it, some have assumed that it...
As Arsenal and Manchester City dropped points, it felt like Liverpool managed to win after a weekend in which they didn’t even play… AN enjoyable weekend without stress. Alright, a weird weekend without footy for The Reds but an enjoyable one,...
Liverpool continue to knock every negative narrative down with each passing win, going 11 clear of Manchester City atop the Premier League… ELEVEN high. Yes, 34 minus 23 is 11 and there’s nothing anyone can do about it. As we enter the last month of...
As Liverpool head into another Champions League battle against Real Madrid, all the questions centre around Mo Salah’s contract comments… I WAS GOING to write about Madrid, to be honest. These things are usually settled a day or two before they come...
It’s OK to have conflicting thoughts ahead of Liverpool’s next three fixtures against Southampton, Real Madrid & Manchester City… I’m fascinated with the concept of ‘doublethink.’ This is an idea developed by George Orwell in what may be...
Aston Villa’s questionable tactics were brushed aside by Liverpool as Arne Slot continues to tactically outsmart the opposition… AND then there were five. Five points ahead of City. To say that this is dreamland is something of an understatement. ...
After an ugly first half Liverpool recovered to win a crucial three points against Brighton, but how do you dissect such a two-sided game? HOW things can change. At half time on Saturday I went onto the concourse of the Upper Kemlyn stand and seethed. I’d had...
Cries of corruption on social media followed more dropped points for Arsenal, as cryarsing continues to be the enemy of real injustice in football… THIRTY-SIX years ago this month I left Liverpool to go to University. Well, alright it was a Polytechnic,...
It was a day that could’ve been about refereeing or even Gary Neville’s punditry, but Liverpool took control of the narrative against Chelsea… I WAS going to write about Gary Neville today. I was going to write about the reasons why I’m not...
As Alisson Becker suffers another injury setback, we’re reminded of how often and ably Caoimhin Kelleher has had to step up for Liverpool… OF all the jobs and roles in the game, the strangest surely has to be that of the goalkeeper understudy. I...
The third episode of season one of The Pub Crawlers Podcast was recorded in Nottingham, as Rob Gutmann hosts Steve Graves and Martin Fitzgerald to discuss the local pub scene, Indian restaurants, students, and more…
The Pub Crawlers Podcast represents a quest to find the very best authentic UK pubs, filmed on location inside some of the finest boozers across the UK and Ireland.
Well, sort of. It’s equally about friends having three to four pint-fuelled, quintessential pub conversations, on any subjects that damn well occur to them, in a range of outstanding boozers across the land. So, really, it’s as much about what we get up to in pubs as the pubs themselves.
The shows are presented by self-styled boozer connoisseur and long-time pub designer and owner, Rob Gutmann, who is on a mission to find the very best pubs in the UK and to define the essence of the ‘true’ pub.
Featuring a wide range of guests (mainly Rob’s mates), we’ll be visiting pubs the length and breadth of the country, bedding into the very best of them, and chatting about our lives lived in and around boozers.
The first season of the Pub Crawlers focuses on the North of England, taking in Chester, Sheffield, Manchester, Liverpool, and even a brief foray to the north side of the Midlands in Nottingham.
Plug yourself in to the ongoing conversation as it disappears down all manner of tenuously pub-related worm holes, with your new mates at TPC. And you don’t need a pint to enjoy us, but it might help…
