LIKE everyone, I expected to see Liverpool sign a left-back this summer. I expected it from the point when Alberto Moreno was substituted in the Capital One Cup Final against Manchester City. That day James Milner sat in at full-back. The mistake in the Europa League...
WE’RE back then. Oh good lord we are back. The sweat is pouring off me. My heart is pounding. My legs are shaking. I have hugged a million strangers. We’ve just won but I might not make it through 37 more. I can’t wait for 37 more. I couldn’t...
HELLO 2016-17. I have high hopes for you, you handsome devil. The journey for me starts in Los Angeles, standing on bleachers, as the sun goes down, surrounded by Liverpool supporters who are so, so pleased to be watching The Reds in person, watching The Reds in...
“THESE things happen.” They do. They did. They happened in 2012. They happened in 2014. These things happen. They happened in Liverpool, Blackburn and Inter Milan. They happened, these things. They happen. The facts about these things, the things which happen, all the...
We decided to ask Anfield Wrap contributors what they would do this summer with clubs that weren’t their own; how they would resurrect Aston Villa? How can Arsenal make the next step? Who would you hire and who would you fire? Each got to advise, be...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTrjo3V-NnQ In the aftermath of the game last night, I didn’t feel like I had a lot to write down. I didn’t feel like I had a lot to say. I was heartbroken. Heartbroken for them and us. For all of them really. The old stager...
I HAVE spent a lot of time recently thinking about Roald Dahl and his sheer unapologetic brilliance. There’s an attitude to what Dahl wrote. It is something about being determined to be awkward and ungainly. That being those things is simultaneously something to...
THE manager on Danny Ings: “Maybe it’s not enough time for him, but next season, we’ll have a lot of fun with him for sure.” We’ll have a lot of fun with him for sure. Shall we really over-analyse? Let’s do it. It has been repeatedly...
INJURY-TIME equalisers never go out of fashion. Never have, never will. There’s something fabulous about them. But before we get stuck into this — next season, next season, next season… Next season: Chelsea will be good. Chelsea will be very good....
LIVERPOOL won and played well. Liverpool opened the scoring in the 36th minute. Liverpool doubled their advantage in the 77th minute. Two nils don’t get any more regulation and we’ve forgotten what they feel like. It is what you are supposed to want....
The Pub Crawlers Podcast: Down The Local with Mo Stewart (S1E5)
The fifth episode of season one of The Pub Crawlers Podcast was recorded ‘Down The Local’ in Liverpool, as Rob Gutmann hosts Steve Graves and Mo Stewart to discuss worst pub toilet experiences, music in pubs, Glastonbury, and more…
The Pub Crawlers Podcast represents a quest to find the very best authentic UK pubs, filmed on location inside some of the finest boozers across the UK and Ireland.
Well, sort of. It’s equally about friends having three to four pint-fuelled, quintessential pub conversations, on any subjects that damn well occur to them, in a range of outstanding boozers across the land. So, really, it’s as much about what we get up to in pubs as the pubs themselves.
The shows are presented by self-styled boozer connoisseur and long-time pub designer and owner, Rob Gutmann, who is on a mission to find the very best pubs in the UK and to define the essence of the ‘true’ pub.
Featuring a wide range of guests (mainly Rob’s mates), we’ll be visiting pubs the length and breadth of the country, bedding into the very best of them, and chatting about our lives lived in and around boozers.
The first season of the Pub Crawlers focuses on the North of England, taking in Chester, Sheffield, Manchester, Liverpool, and even a brief foray to the north side of the Midlands in Nottingham.
Plug yourself in to the ongoing conversation as it disappears down all manner of tenuously pub-related worm holes, with your new mates at TPC. And you don’t need a pint to enjoy us, but it might help…
