IThe Review is my favourite TAW (or any other for tht matter) podcast but has completly missed the point this time
I’m amazed that the VAR decisions in the game are virtually not mentioned at all in either this podcast and the post match pint
Although the podcast is very positive about the perfomance, there is still some implicit criticsm about not seeing the game out when the reality is that would have been completly irrelevant if we did not have a VAR guy who is so blantly biased against LFC (he has previous on the subject – Old Trafford last season)
Conversly, I think the podcast is far too optimistic about the season ahead. IF the nutcase Pickford has finished VanDjik’s season, then our chances of winning the league suddenly drop significantly. I like Sean Rogers but think he has lost the plot suggesting that losing the best CH in World football can somehow improve our defensive organisation? Joe Gomez is a great prospect but his confidence is shot and opposition teams will smell blood. The thought of playing Man City in a few weeks without VanDjik is frightening
VAR would not have changed Pickfords assualt on abut the thought of him and Everton getting away scott free still sees me seething inside
