I think we’re a bit shit at the moment, but its understandable, we’re bedding in a number of players and pre-season wasn’t ideal. Let’s be happy with the points for now because points win prizes……….
I’m heartened by the newfound solidity, it makes sense to build from the back, we just need to work out how to get the best from our attacking players. Building a balanced, fully functional team is Brendan’s biggest challenge this season.
I’m less heartened by the suggestion that Lallana should be running on to Benteke’s flicks – he clearly hasn’t got the pace, and the amount of time its taken for Brendan to realize he hasn’t the pace to play in a front three. He may yet become an important player (I’m not convinced) but if he does, it will be from deep.
