TAW contributors with talking points from the ground after Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Stoke City.

Simon Mignolet

Mignolet pulled off two belters. Genuine top saves. @PhilBlundell

Here is another instance of Simon Mignolet having a good season. @PaulSenior1

Not sure anyone can show me a keeper who’s clearly better than Mignolet who we could buy. De Gea let a shot slip through his hands onto the bar last week ffs! @paul7cope

Emre Can

Emre Can has been boss for a while now. @johngibbonsblog

Should get him signed up now. @PhilBlundell

Phil And Bobby

Mad how good Coutinho and Firmino looked when they came off the bench. It immediately becomes a much better game of football as well as the improvement it gave the Liverpool side. Firmino’s goal is magic, absolutely blams it. @jsexton24

If ever a celebration warranted a yellow card, it was that one and for that goal. Excellent. The end looked incredible too. I think suddenly everyone has a little bit more belief when they see Coutinho and Firmino come on. All of a sudden, there was cohesion and a purpose in what we were doing. @C_Hannan7

Game Of Two Halves

Thought we were ok first half, not great just meh. Second half was proper domination. @PhilBlundell

That’s the thing though isn’t it. That first half performance was fine for a tough away. Old Liverpool sides made a living of making nothing happen until they fancied winning it. @Benjanijohnson

Nah we were dreadful first half. Clueless. We were lucky they weren’t very good or we could have been dead and buried. But movement great second half. Some of our play brilliant. @johngibbonsblog

Conclusion

Glorious that. Up with the best of the season. Starting eleven is designed, surely, to buy us time to win the game from 0-0 on 60. Our defence makes it a bit harder and then the boys box it anyway. Towniest of towns. @Benjanijohnson

Brilliant win. Amazing what getting better players on the pitch can do. Can’t wait to see us with a deeper quality squad next  season. Also think more Liverpool fans need to realise that no team in the history of football has ever been perfect all the time, it’s about winning games however you can. Same goes for individual players. @paul7cope
