SO the transfer window is back and it always feels more like a game of Supermarket Sweep in the month of January.

Clubs up and down the country looking to find the right player to boost their squad. Whether they’re in the midst of an injury crisis, a title challenge or relegation battle. It’s the ideal time for a panic buy.

A Tale Of Two Loans

IT seems there could be two players set for a loan move in the January transfer window, both at very different stages of their Liverpool careers.

The first is Mamadou Sakho. The Frenchman has been an outcast since failing a drugs test and getting on the wrong side of his manager during the club’s pre-season tour. And it seems he could be set to go out on loan to Galatasaray, with AMK Sport reporting that the Turkish club are willing to pay The Reds a loan fee of £850,000 to secure a move.

Another player on the cusp of a seemingly more temporary departure is Pedro Chirivella. The young Spaniard is set for a loan move to Dutch club Go Ahead Eagles, with the Liverpool Echo reporting that an agreement is close. Jürgen Klopp is believed to be a big fan of the midfielder but feels he would benefit from regular first team football.

No Move For Hart

THE infamous ‘Sky Sources’ understand that Joe Hart is not a target for Liverpool. Simon Mignolet was recently recalled to the squad after summer signing Loris Karius had struggled to settle into his new surroundings and the on-loan Manchester City stopper was being linked.

However, an approach for England’s number one would be unlikely in this window, given that he is currently at Torino and can’t appear for more than two clubs in one season. And Sky Sports are reporting that even the possibility of a summer move appears unlikely.

A sign that Klopp is happy with his options, maybe?

Reds Seeking Pulisic Alternative

LIVERPOOL have so far been frustrated in their attempts to lure Christian Pulisic away from Borussia Dortmund, with the German club publicly refusing the idea of a sale. And it appears they could now be set to aim their sights elsewhere with RB Leipzig’s Emil Forsberg being lined up as an alternative to the American youngster.

The Daily Mirror are reporting that Liverpool have sent scouts to watch the Swedish international, who Klopp is believed to be a long-term admirer of. The 25-year-old has lit up the Bundesliga with five goals and nine assists in 15 appearances for the league’s surprise package and is rumoured to be valued at £20million, with a number of big clubs interested in a move.

Another Murphy Set For Anfield

ANOTHER attacking player being linked with a move to Merseyside, according to reports in the Daily Mirror, is Norwich’s Jacob Murphy. The 21-year-old has impressed for the Canaries this campaign with Spurs also rumoured to be interested in a move.

However, Liverpool are ready to steal a march on their Premier League rivals by offering the option of a loan back to Carrow Road until the end of the season in order to persuade the youngster to sign.

Youngster Set For Liverpool Trial

COVENTRY City youngster Cian Harries has been invited to train with the first team at Melwood ahead of a potential transfer, according to the Daily Mail. The 19-year-old is highly thought of at the Ricoh Arena but with the club in a dire financial situation they may be powerless to resist an approach from The Reds.

Benfica Striker Lined Up For £22m Move

BENFICA striker Raul Jimenez has been touted as a potential summer target for Liverpool with Klopp looking to boost his striking options in the future — particularly with the increasing uncertainty over the long-term fitness of Daniel Sturridge and Danny Ings.

And, while the Mexican is believed to be going nowhere in January, Squawka report that The Reds see him as a potential star and an ideal candidate to fresh up their forward line.
