SO it’s the first leg of the League Cup semi-final tonight, but before we get into all that let’s see who Liverpool are being linked with in a bid to boost their hopes of silverware this season.
Reds Shelve Plans To Sign Promes
HERE is one target that looks unlikely to be joining The Reds in this window. Quincy Promes.
According to the Daily Mail, the Dutchman has caught the eye of Jürgen Klopp, as well as Merseyside rivals Everton.
However, it seems that a move won’t come to fruition in this window. That doesn’t rule out a summer move, though…
Reds Shelve Plans To Sign Brandt
SIGH… Here is another target that looks unlikely to be joining The Reds in this window. Julian Brandt.
The Echo are reporting that the club are interested in the 20-year-old and have been keeping a close eye on his performances for Bayer Leverkusen.
However, it seems that a move won’t come to fruition in this window. Again. That doesn’t rule out a summer move, though…

Subotic Hints At Klopp Reunion
FORMER Borussia Dortmund stalwart Neven Subotic has hinted that a move to Merseyside could be on the cards, while his agent has refused to rule out a move to the Premier League.
According to the Daily Star, the Serbian thanked Klopp for the best period of his footballing career in Germany and described the current Liverpool manager as an ‘important person’ in his life.
Meanwhile, his agent said: “Everything is possible in football,” when quizzed on the possibility of a move to England in this current window. Interesting…
Boro Enter Race To Sign Rodriguez
AITOR Karanka has shown an interest in signing wantaway Paris Saint-Germain forward Jese Rodriguez on loan, according to reports in the Daily Star.
The Middlesbrough boss knows the 23-year-old from his time as assistant manager at Real Madrid and hopes that can aid the North East club’s chances of doing a deal.
However, the Spaniard’s wages would be a stumbling block on any permanent move. Be interesting to see what PSG want.
Swansea Want Sakho
THIS one could develop into a saga. According to the Echo, Swansea are the latest club to declare an interest in Mamadou Sakho.
The Welsh club are among several Premier League clubs, including tonight’s opponents Southampton, to have put their names in the hat.
However, any move hinges on the meeting of Liverpool’s £20million valuation. Oh, and it must be a permanent move. Expect this one to go to the wire.
Juve In For Emre
EMRE Can could be subject to an offer from Italian giants Juventus in the summer, according to La Stampa.
The German has come under some criticism for his recent performances and Juve could make a swoop — provided a deal for their main target Mahmoud Dahoud (remember him?) doesn’t come off.
Can’t see this one happening, to be honest. I’m in the ‘he has a bright future‘ camp.
