SO it’s finally time for Sadio Mane (GBNF x) to leave us to join up with the Senegalese national team ahead of the 2017 African Cup of Nations.

If things weren’t already feeling ominous post-social media head rolling in the aftermath of the 2-2 draw at Sunderland, Liverpool are now set for up to a month without their top scorer.

It truly is the end of days, lads.

Lovren: Reds Are Down But Not Out

WAS tough to take that, wasn’t it? Just as you feel untouchable after beating Manchester City on New Year’s Eve you come crashing back down to earth with a draw at Sunderland just under 48 (FORTY-EIGHT) hours later.

Dejan Lovren has also expressed his disappointment at the result but says the Reds must dust themselves off and go again, with a big chunk of the season still to go.

He told the ECHO: “There is still half a season to go. There are so many games in front of us and in front of Chelsea. We just have to concentrate on ourselves.

“We will have more ups and downs throughout the season. We need to learn from the mistakes we made against Sunderland. I’d prefer we took the three points and reduced that gap by more but we need to keep moving on.”

Hopefully it’s another learning curve. Everything crossed for a Spurs win on Wednesday.

Breaking: Lallana Still Runs A Lot

SO despite the ridiculous lack of time between the final whistle blowing against Manchester City at Anfield and the game getting underway against Sunderland at the Stadium Of Light, Adam Lallana was still putting in the hard yards over the festive period.

The midfielder covered 13.22km in Monday’s draw, having clocked up 12.88km in the victory over City under 48 hours (klaxon) earlier — the two biggest shifts put in by anyone in the Premier League over the last two rounds of fixtures.

He’s great, isn’t he? Runs loads and does numbers and that.

No Move For England’s Kev Stewart

SOME decent transfer stuff for you here, Reds. And it involves the big man Kevin Stewart.

Rumour has it there are a number of clubs chasing the 23-year-old’s signature but Jürgen Klopp remains determined to keep the former Spurs man at the club.

If Lucas Leiva is potentially on the move it makes sense to try and keep Stewart at the club. He can do a job and doesn’t appear to be kicking up a fuss over his role.

Anyway, more transfer stuff to come soon…

Just Waiting For Joel

SEEMS that Joel Matip has been named in the 35-man Cameroon squad for the upcoming African Cup of Nations, despite pulling out of international duty to focus on progressing with Liverpool.

So the manager of Cameroon is still expecting the centre-half to report for international duty… Lol.
