Guttman doesn’t think Lallana did much, and has been quiet lately!
When he isn’t in the side (including after his substitution yesterday) we don’t look anywhere near as focused, as dynamic or as exciting. He runs the whole game with his intelligence and knowing exactly when to press, when to move the ball quickly, when to take an extra touch and more.
See when he came on at home vs the mancs for another example.
For me he’s the first on the team sheet.
Superb footballer.
Enjoyed this pod, enjoyed gibbos home and away and am bang into Louis Berry lately so keep up the good work lads.
28.10 Whats that all about fella.
Don’t know mate as don’t know what this means.
Presume you mean on 28 mins and 10 secs of the show. Very strange comment from Neil.
“I prefer 6-1 to 6-0 but we probably shouldn’t elaborate for the sake of the audience”
My guess would be it’s linked to devil worship. Can’t possibly think of another explanation.
27 more naked discos if you ask me rob! Lol. Let’s all enjoy the season lads and lasses! Lolz.
Nice to hear Melissa on a show. Not heard one of hers since pre-season though I’m aware she’s done a few. Always brings a good perspective to things. Completely agree about the clean sheet thing. Don’t get me wrong I was disappointed when they scored for a few reasons primarily for Karius but also because I knew it would detract from the performance somewhere down the line both in the press and amongst our fans. If you want 6 goals each game then it’s a consequence. I’m interested in this winning the league debate though. It’s caused a feud between some of my mates. Now I’ve been challenged as talking shit I’ve upped my opinion to I ‘guarantee’ we’ll win it. I absolutely believe that but my point is based on something I feel Melissa articulated. May is a long time away. Anything can happen in that time. For me, the future doesn’t even exist. I’ve always lived with that view hence never having any structure to my life. The concept of the future is too abstract for me. I wait for an avenue or a crossroads to present itself then choose which route to take. I believe in the here and now and at this particular moment I’m loving the Reds and I’m absolutely confident that we’re the best team on the planet. It’s important to me I enjoy it and talk about us winning it because come May we might have nothing. I don’t want to live my life with that level of caution or conservatism. Sick of this talk of City too. I keep saying it but they’re too reliant on Aguero. Chelsea are a much bigger threat and they have no Europe too.
At my age I shouldn’t have favourite players but it’s Henderson. I love everything about his commitment to the Reds. After a summer of arguing with said mates about him and the captaincy they bought me a Henderson mask and claimed I was a bummer. But everyone is talking about Coutinho, Lallana, Firmino, Mane etc but I fear the day Jordan gets a knock and misses a few games. It’s gonna be another Wijnaldumesque wake up call to many. He’s becoming crucial to the freedom the rest of the team have. Not just the 5 you’d expect but also the full backs and particularly Matip.
Annoying Stuff: All the media focus has been more on Chelsea and how world beating they were and less on how absolutely rampant we were.
Good Stuff: All the media focus on Chelsea ;)
I’m loving this at the moment, Klopp is genius. How on earth to you coach that system?! it’s unreal I can’t think of any team that has played with as much fluidity. The interchange between all of the front 5 (+2 lb/rb) is something to watch, they all seem to know when to run, when to switch, when to stop, when to pass. The sheer volume of blind passes that hit the target each time was unbelievable to watch.
Been supporting LFC for 38 years and I’ve watched some teams but this team are something else altogether. If we can hang onto the players we are going to go far, if not this season then next.
So excited :)
we need to get Mel Reddy back…you knew were you were when Melissa did her Thursday scribbling, near the end of the week and demob happy
Re 29 April:
We KNOW we have enough goals in the team to overcome every team outside the top 6, that’s how you win titles. Watford were 7th and lucky to have only conceded 6!
The trick is not to lose against our rivals…if we manage to do that, and I know it’s a big ask, then that should see us home. Factor in 3 of them are still in the Champions League then ourselves and Chelsea should be fresher and better prepared for games from March onwards.
A couple of points:
For the first time in ages, the team isn’t too passive in games. We’ve all been to games, and seen them on the box, when we simply don’t turn up. Now, Klopp has us taking the initiative, and we look a whole lot more determined to take the three points, OUR 3 points.
And finally just a quick nod to the pre season win overy Barcelona; we all thought it was a one off performance and result, but judging by what we’ve witnessed so far this season it’s far from that. The signs were there we just didn’t dare to believe. I think we do now.
