Emre Can wasn’t that bad. He was given a job to do vs Manchester and did OK. If he scored his chance then we’ll be talking about Can in a higher regard.
No, he was. Instead of moving into space he was just standing there next to the guy with the ball asking for it so he can pass it out to the full backs. Watch Winaldjum next time his plays when we have the ball he is always moving into uncomfortable positions for the opposition.
When you talk about ‘not putting it all on black’ ….. when the upside is +2 points and the downside is -1 point other than bragging rights that’s exactly what you should do.
Mourinho first Chelsea teams blew away its rivals. In 12 games v Arsenal, United and Liverpool the record was W9 D2 L1 . In his last championship winning side the record in the 8 games v The same opponents plus City was W3 D5. He approaches games against big rivals as must not lose. If his teams get two draws he sees that as taking 4 points off his rivals; this makes it better than 3 points each. Sometime you need to respect the point.
LVG got 12 points in 4 games against us playing a more open style than Mou.. Don’t remember LVG going 6-3-1 whenever we were in final third. Other end, they had 1 shot on target and completed 2of 4 passes in the box.
Yes, they came to get a point and succeeded but if Mou is going to park that bus against the ‘big’ teams, we don’t have them as competitors for top 4.
That bus will look good in Europa League next year. At worst, this was good practice for next 3 fixtures.
