IF you’re sat wondering whether the Reds are ever going to sign a new left back, this *might* excite you. It’s the round-up of all the latest Liverpool FC transfer gossip.
Reds To Stick Not Twist
They may have got their wish – though it won’t be in the way they hoped – as the ECHO are reporting that James Milner is set to take up the left back spot for the upcoming game against Burnley.
What’s it gonna take, Reds?
Hector To Sign For Rivals?
This will not go down well. Reports in The Mirror suggest that Chelsea are eyeing up a move for long-term Liverpool target Jonas Hector. *puts tin hat on*
New boss Antonio Conte feels the club are light on options in that area – after Baba Rahman left to join Schalke on loan – and have made an enquiry for the German international.
Again, this will not go down well.
Coentrao Still An Option?
It looks unlikely given Klopp’s recent comments, but the Reds are being linked with a move for Fabio Coentrao.
The Portuguese international is out of favour at Real Madrid, having spent last season on loan at Monaco, and the Reds may be open to taking him on loan, according to reports in the Spanish media.
A tenuous link at best. And he’s injured till October.
Daily Christian Benteke klaxon. Besiktas have reportedly offered 4.5million euros to take the Belgian on loan for the season, according to reports from Yeni Safak.
The Daily Mail are reporting that West Ham have joined the race to sign Benteke, though Crystal Palace are still front runners – with a deal looking more likely after Yannick Bolasie’s departure – while odds on the Liverpool striker joining Everton have been sliced.
UPDATE: The Echo are reporting that the Reds have rejected a £30m offer from Palace for Benteke. The offer was believed to be £23m plus £7m in “unrealistic” add ons.
Get it boxed, Pardew.
