HERE is your tea time round-up of today’s biggest Liverpool FC stories on transfer deadline day.

Alberto Signs For Lazio

As it is deadline day it’s only right we start with transfer news. It’s the one we’ve all been waiting for, as Luis Alberto has signed for Lazio in a deal worth £6million. *claps*

But seriously, it seems a good deal for all concerned. He was too slow for the Premier League, Liverpool have almost got their money back on him, and Lazio have got a 23-year-old player who is technically good and has the potential to get better.

Aren’t we all happy? No?

Trio Could Be Set To Stay

Mamadou Sakho appears intent to stay Liverpool and fight for his place, despite Jürgen Klopp’s ultimatum to the player that he would have to leave to get first team football. Be interesting to see how that situation develops, but, if he does stay, is it really such a bad thing?

Meanwhile, the Reds appear to have been unsuccessful in their attempts to shift Lazar Markovic and Tiago Ilori. The club were looking for permanent deals for both players, though they were willing to accept a loan with a commitment to buy in Markovic’s case, and a move for either is seeming increasingly unlikely.

Let’s hope there is some change on that front before 11pm.

Karius Undergoes Successful Surgery

Loris Karius has undergone successful surgery to remove the wires in his right hand, after accidentally punching Dejan Lovren during a match against Chelsea, on the club’s pre-season tour of the US.

The German stopper has posted regular updates for fans on Twitter, and he will now continue his post-surgery recovery.

Go ‘ed, Loris. Lets get you back between the sticks.

Reds Sign Bus Deal

More massive deadline day news you might have missed. Liverpool have announced a partnership with Stagecoach, and have revealed plans for an ‘Anfield 917’ bus, which will operate on matchdays from the city centre to Anfield up to every 10 minutes.

In all seriousness, it’s actually a good idea and could help traffic around the ground on matchdays. And this video is a pretty good laugh:

Today’s Digest

Couple of pieces up on the site today. Karl Coppack and Ian Salmon have both given different perspectives on the Sakho issue. Read Karl’s here. And Ian’s here.

Away from transfers, Phil Blundell has done a great piece on why we shouldn’t look at the league table, given that we’re only three games into the season — as some seem to have forgotten. Read that here.

Apart from that, up the quiet deadline day Reds!
