THE RIDER this week was recorded on the day of the news about David Bowie passing away.
Before that news had even broken, John Gibbons, Stephanie Heneghan and Adam Melia had been discussing what to play from his most recent album. In the end John picked Dollar Days from Blackstar and that opens the show followed by discussion about the impact David Bowie has had on popular culture and the fact that the tunes are brilliant. Lots of discussion of the tunes. You’d expect nothing less.
What else? Neil Atkinson’s back from Prague and there is a chat about that. There are nine other fantastic tunes, three of which come from established Rider favourites and there is an absolute ton of needle. Just pre-warning you…

Bit late on the LCD song. Listened to it on Christmas day and it was just a bit depressing. Also, eeeee at John not having songs like New York I Love You but being into Gun & The Roses. You brought me back in with Wild Nothing though so fair play.
Bellew was on talksport giving Creed the big sell before. He’s like the bluenose Frenchy that fella. Unhinged.
