Listening to this and other taw podcasts over the years it really makes you think about what these young lads go through, years of academy training which too most does not benefit the development but when clubs like lfc come in for them they have to take the chance and cant refuse the opportunity.I dont have the answers but seems best route is 1st team football is lower league and develop and improve and hope to work your way up.How many lads have probably had potential to have a good career playing the game in lower league have been ruined by signing for the top clubs and not making it and packing in once released,it just makes you think.
Also well done for the Rodgers Podcast he deserves the dignity and respect he showed from us. up the reds

Great debate as usual and I agree with about 50% of what you said but if I was one of those young lads listening to how you rated them (or was it berated) I’d be a bit deflated to be honest.
It was brilliant that the same lads who struggled to get an equalizer down at Exeter blew them away at Anfield and that’s just the 2nd game they have played together…Imagine what they’d be like after 10 games together working as a unit.
Say what you like about the quality of the opposition but these lads put three in the onion sack, which is three more than the 1st team have done for all the superstars that are in it.
They look sharp and full of running both when Liverpool were in possession and when they lost possession.
I applaud them and so should you and I hope the lads you pointed out as not having a long term Liverpool career were listening to this podcast lads and prove you all wrong.
A special mention goes to Jon Flanagan-welcome back Jon
Also a special mention goes to Sheyi Ojo as he looks the biz every time gets the ball.
Benteke should have taken his chances and needs more heading practice on the training pitch by the look of it but he played well and had a hand in two of the goals.
I don’t see why we can’t start 3/4 of the likes of Texiera, Smith, Brannigan, Ibe, Stewart in the next round of the cup.
Use some of them and surround them with the likes of Allen, Lucas, Milner, Lovren, Kolo etc to give them a bit of assuredness.
If they think they’re being given chances to impress they’ll bust a gut to do so.
I don’t see why not.
