NEIL ATKINSON, John Gibbons and Gareth Roberts are in for this week’s regular Monday podcast to dissect another miserable Liverpool collapse at the hands of supposedly inferior opposition.
Did the occasion of Steven Gerrard’s last Anfield match get to Liverpool? Are we actually any good? Was anyone really arsed?
Can’t believe Robs assessment of Bolasie. Absolutely hilarious how highly you seem to regard him and i would be absolutely devastated if we signed him. How does he take us to the next level?? To be honest Liverpool at the minute is an absolute disaster! On the pitch we’ve been dismantled at home by a very average Palace side and off the pitch we have a 20 year old kid trying to bully us into selling him, whilst are captain is off to the States.
FSG and Brendan are taking this club down the very quick road to mediocrity! It’s an absolute joke and someone has to take the fall for this and for me it’s Brendan!! Enough is enough! Clop is apparently speaking to fucking Fenerbahce and we seem to be sticking with a guy who seems to have completely lost the plot. 3 years in and our squad is as bad as it was 3 years ago and the side has no identity. He has to go!!
You’re right though, Bolasie’s a shitehouse, got a touch of the Downings, we rate him only because he destroys us, time and again. He’s shit otherwise
Which means we’ll splash 15 mil on him now
Just realised i’ve posted a comment in relation to the pink on the normal podcast page. Oh well it’s still true.
I don’t care whether Rodgers “doesn’t like” Borini, Balotelli and Lambert. That’s a silly excuse/explanation.
Rafa didn’t play 4231 right away, even though he’d been very successful with it with Valencia. He adjusted. He used what he had, and then tried slowly but surely, to add/change personnel to improve.
Too many are giving Rodgers too easy of an out wrt to our lack of goal-scoring this season. He’d persist with HIS system and be quick to not give his ‘un-favored’ players and combination a chance to improve, work out the kinks, etc.
The apparent cluelessness of our players once they get/got into the box is not up to them. It’s a managerial/coaching issue. I am sorry, there’s just so much blame-shifting that is reasonable.
I remembered early in Rafa’s tenure when we’d look shit with one upfront because that one isn’t Torres, or even Crouch, so he’d adjust and play two upfront
Then Kuyt wasn’t doing it upfront, so he played him right, that was good that
It’s about making the most outta what you have, whether you like it or not, not sure Rodgers has. Particularly when those that he had, he bought them
If as Gareth says ‘ This isnt the show to apportion blame’ then what show is? because barring blaming players for not knowing what they are doing ( which basically begs a huge question of the staff) I don’t hear any blame being apportioned barring the many shit or snide supporters?
Right I’ve calmed down a bit and pulled my head in a bit and realised Gareth did then go on and mention the situation regards players and the tinkering. So apologies!
Chester Zoo’s having quite a big expansion at the minute. Be worth another visit in the coming months if you’re into that sort of thing.
The opening question reminded me of a school trip we went on to France. One of our teachers pulled me and a group of mates aside just before leaving France. We all thought oh no, he knows we’ve got bags full of explosives (they were actually little bangers about the size of a betting pen). He said, listen lads, can you do me a favour, can you take these through for me and gave us loads of fags and bottles of spirits, haha. Unbelievable really, there’s no way teachers would do that now. We got them through though and I learned from it. 10 years on when everyone was doing the fag runs to France the ferry terminals were on top. My MO was getting the bus from Gallieni in Paris rather than from the ferry ports and filling the hold. They rarely got stopped. They were too busy looking for vans from Calais.
