THE new Liverpool home kit for 2014-15, launched in Liverpool city centre yesterday, was designed with an eye on the classic kits worn by Reds players during the era of legendery forward Roger Hunt in the 1960s. As well as calling on current stars – Simon Mignolet, Jordan Henderson, Kolo Toure and Philippe Coutinho – to do some modelling, LFC asked another legendary striker, Robbie Fowler, along to help with the unveiling.
The current players had emerged from a shipping container outside the Hilton to show off the new kit; all-red of course for the outfield players, purple for the goalkeeper.
Afterwards TAW’s Mike Nevin and Jim Boardman were joined by Matt Ladson from This is Anfield for an exclusive chat with Robbie.
The lads also had a chat with Liverpool keeper Simon Mignolet, available to listen to here: SIMON MIGNOLET INTERVIEW.
- Simon Mignolet was speaking at Liverpool FC’s very-first live kit reveal
- The new strip takes inspiration from the Roger Hunt MBE era in the 1960s where he was a major factor in the Club’s success, including promotion to the First Division and the team’s very-first FA Cup win.
- Fans can pre-order the new LFC home kit now from either the Official Liverpool FC Online Store or in any Official Liverpool FC Club Store and with every order fans will receive and exclusive Club towel for free
