Bit different to Hull that wasn’t it? Seriously though, arguably the best a Liverpool side has played since March 2009. Expected Hendo to step up in Gerrard’s absence to some extent but that was the complete performance. Made up for Flanagan and Sterling (who I’d been worrying about the last 12 months) hasn’t looked that good since his debut. Suarez remains Suarez; needs to be kept in my life beyond next summer.
Best performance of the season, and no Gerrard. Midfield looked complete and mobile for once. Discuss…
And no Gerrard? I can’t believe I just read that on a site like this!
Can’t you ask for confirmation that some contributors are allowed to stay up so late?
Maybe a letter from their parents denying responsibility for them and saying they went to bed ages ago and should have been asleep by then!
Actually, when we get teams park the bus and give us tonnes of time and space, there’s noone better than Gerrard in the midfield.
Hendo has far less to offer in those situations and mobility isn’t a big deal. Yesterday he had acres of space to exploit behind AVB’s mad back line and it’s great for him.
But against the big teams that try to play and space appears around the pitch, Gerrard has become a liability without the mobility and Henderson is better suited, MFs that can run for 90 mins.
The silver lining to gerrard’s injury is we’ll have a much more effective midfield for some big games.
We have to go for a result against Chelski, it’ll be tough but they are conceding. Citeh, little chance of getting a result.
..and some one teach Coutinho how to take corners…………
