Never presume! City look poor away from home.
Great wrap that, enjoyed it and agree with neil if your not going to get your hopes up then what is the f******* point?
Anyone who says its hard to find a chant for Daniel Sturridge is’nt trying hard enough!!
I’d put in a shout for a “Super Dan” in the style of the lampard chant for instance. Its is a bit borrowed and a bit southern but it works with his name successfully I think.
Terrible effort by this website…. http://www.song-lyrics-generator.org.uk/?i=fyq1
How about “Dan, Dan, Dan, Daniel Sturridge…” to the tune of the Beach Boys’ Good Vibrations ?
Really like it, especially the prospect of the wooeeee theremin bit at the end! Although it would really be something if the kop could do all the harmonies:)
Regarding the Sturridge songs/chants, a simple, “Dan! Dan! Dan! Dan! Dan….Dan!” à la Alan Partridge would work. Make it happen.
Please make Andy and John talk in the American accents all the time.
Please don’t, that was cringeworthy.
Really enjoyed listening to the wrap on my way to work lads. Wayne’s a great addition to the gang. Andy’s JH tweets should be a feature on every ep from now on…
just shout, “DAN!” constantly as Alan Partridge ! ;)
brilliant. let’s definitely do this.
Yes! Defo that. The difficult name thing is overstated with regards to Sturridge; he fits into to both the Suarez and Torres song syllable-wise if you think about it.
Also, good pod again lads, covered just about everything from the game. Just a few extra thoughts I had:
– It’s stating the obvious but this result in particular is a really positive one. We’ve beaten Fulham at home 4-0 back-to-back seasons under Rodgers after conspiring to lose against them under Kenny and I don’t remember exactly how often Fulham took points off us at Anfield under Benitez but it’s in my mind that they frustrated us to a load of 0-0s for some reason.
– The flat-track bully midfield point is interesting but I think we might have flat-track bully CBs as well which is even weirder. Would be swapping them out with Sakho and Toure for the derby going up against Lukaku physically, even if Kolo has lost some of his cult hero luster after turning his back at Arsenal.
– I think Scott Parker lost whatever footballing brain cells he had at Euro 2012 after blocking about 97 shots with his face.
– Think Brendan used a formation which looked all a bit Ancelotti at Milan at times on Saturday with the diamond of CMs which awoke me from my post-Arsenal pessimism. Johnson as Cafu and Coutinho as Kaka. I’m excited; wish there wasn’t an international break now…
James Bond is a code name for a long string of various 007 agents……
