I am often (well sometimes) asked for updates on bands we have featured on the podcast, so I thought I would do it during what appears to be a very busy period for many.
Firstly our good friends The Tea Street Band released a single called Disco Lights this month
You can buy it on itunes https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/disco-lights-single/id556238326 or amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Disco-Lights/dp/B0092WPJ76
Also do check out the video, with a spectacular performance from Nico
For all you London reds The Tea Street Band are performing at The Brixton Grosvenor on Saturday October 20th with more details here: https://www.facebook.com/events/332008900225935/
Another band on the bill that night are Mercury 13. Mercury 13 also play The Dovedale Social this week (Thursday 18th Oct) and have also recently released a single.
Double A side Searchlight and Again, Again, Again is available on itunes https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/searchlight-again-again-again/id555881655 or on vinyl http://cookingsoup.bigcartel.com/product/mercury-13-searchlight-again-again-again and there are real actual copies in Probe Records in Liverpool
The best Christmas present I got last year was the reuniting of The Troubadours. It was meant to be a one off gig, but they must have all realised they missed each other because they have since played a few more shows and gone into the studio to record a new single called Con Edison.
You can pre-order the single at http://www.eightiesvinylrecords.co.uk/ or hang on for the download. The Troubies are now officially BACK and so keep checking http://www.the-troubadours.co.uk/news/ for updates. Oh and well done to Mark Frith for finishing the Liverpool Marathon on Sunday!
Cold Shoulder released their first single “Lucifer” this month and it is available on itunes https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/lucifer/id564622259?i=564622335&ign-mpt=uo=4 and amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009KVJ20Y/ref=dm_sp_alb?ie=UTF8&qid=1350405671&sr=1-1
If like me you would rather have a physical CD, follow them on facebook https://www.facebook.com/coldshoulderuk for imminent news.
The Mono LPs have done a new video which is as awesome as they are. The single is out on 29th October and I”ll be first in line
Finally Silent Sleep have set up a Pledge Music account to try and fund their debut album. Have a listen on the link below and if you like it, you can pre-order the album now which will help it get made. So do check it out and support a great band in an innovative way.
They are also doing a unique show at the end of the month in the Scandinavian Church close to The Albert Dock which will be well worth attending
Cheers, and as always if there are any bands you think I should be listening to, do let me know!
One of the great things about the Anfield Wrap has been the attention you’ve given to local music. Wouldn’t have heard of any of those bands without the podcast.
Keep up the good work.
Thanks Robbie, that means a lot
Currently living in Vietnam – great to be able to hear about up and coming Liverpool bands via the podcast and website.
Keep it going fella’s. Will have some new bands to watch when i am next home in Liverpool.
Played The Tea Street Band, Mono LP’s and Rob Vincent at parties out here – people seemed to like!!
