What do you make of the persistent rumours that the club is planning to get rid of Dirk Kuyt?
He’s one of the players (alongside with Agger, Gerrard, Reina, Skrtel, Lucas) who know what it means to play for this club, and always give 100%.
Replace him with a young ‘promising’ talent? As well as Maxi?
I haven’t heard too many protests among the fans. Too bad. We will lose a great servant to the club, maybe not the best skilled, but certainly most committed man playing in the red shirt… and we won’t even try to prevent it. Sad.
Commoli is trying to kick the soul out of this club by his meaningless sabremetrics. And then we are wondering what happened to the winning spirit.
Karen,
Kuyt wants regular first team starts and supposedly he isn’t being guaranteed that. Maxi has a year on his contract so can be sold for a few bob and has hardly been played anyway. While Aurelio is not going to be missed really!
I’m amused that the supporters are the ones who should be seeking an end of season review of the owners. Hubris.
Its interesting how, as the season has unraveled that Damien Comolli is now the prime target for those unwilling to hold Daliglish to account.
The guys on the podcast were wondering what Comolli’s job is. Well, here is his recent interview:

I especially like this:
AK: Within the fan base people say you have signed x player and Kenny has signed x player, how exactly does it work when you sign a player?
DC: I am not sure where those rumours are coming from as they are false. Kenny and I work together, if we get it right it is together and if we get it wrong it is together.
As I said many times before, we would not sign a player Kenny is not comfortable with.
AK: We saw a massive turn around in the playing staff during the summer are you happy with the way it went?
DC: Yes, we are happy. We knew it will be a challenge as for instance we had so many players out on loan, whom we probably would have to move on, and players here at Liverpool who didn’t get playing time and wanted to leave.
I have never gone through a transfer window doing so many deals.
Since January 11, we have signed nine first-team players and we are very pleased with the way it went. This is a long term rebuilding project. We didn’t sign players for six months, but for a long period of time as we know they will keep improving. //
So if anyone actually hopes that Adam, Downing or Carroll will be shown the door, are being massively naive. And we should be getting used to the midtable status and think that we are making a ‘progress’.
No one can question dirks work ethic, commitment, playing for the shirt etc etc… But take the emotion out of it, and apart from a handful of substitute appearances he’s been woeful this season. The common consensus among Liverpool fans for a while now is that we need to bring in a world class right winger, (effectively replacing dirk) yet as soon as there are whispers of his possible sale fans kick up a fuss. In a perfect world he would be fantastic to have coming off the bench for the next couple of seasons, but the reality is he wants to play week in week out- and fair play to him! Having said that, he’s served the club incredibly well over the past few years and will be difficult to replace. But definitely not impossible
Things aren’t going the way we wanted or expected but Liverpool Football Club almost ceased to be 18 months ago.
People are now only realising how much effort Rafa put in to keep the club overachieving & we seem to have forgotten that Kenny put his reputation & status on the line to save our football club! He didn’t have to come back but he did!
We have no right to expect to be winning every season especially after those Cowboys almost destroyed us.
We just have trust Kenny for the meantime, Rome wasn’t built in a day & all that.
LFC fans just need to ignore the mainstream media sensationalism & remember how long it took Shankly to get going!
Literally the podcast focused on EVERYTHING but Dalglish. It had Comolli, Owners, Carragher, Anfield Cat, The stadium, Just have a feeling Villa will spank us and then this podcast will blame Doni. Why are we worried about Doni, Pepe has been crap for months now. Doesnt save pens, opposition needs one chance one goal.Kenny has spent 71 million pounds in fees, plus bonuses and agent fees on British beef. I am happy that when Carra and others can take their wives to Dinner now, they can understand each other.
