Host Neil Atkinson looks at the ins and outs at Anfield with help from Andy Heaton, Jim Boardman, Rob Guttman, Kristian Walsh and The Farm’s Peter Hooton. The lads also discuss the transfer window, what to expect from Stoke, as well as the upcoming Don’t Buy The Sun concert, organised by Mr. Hooton himself.
And in Jay McKenna’s absence, Neil takes the mantle to have a pop at Robbie Savage.

Marvellous.
Love the Podcast, but can you sort out the file size??? 115 MBs is a massive download for audio only, granted it’s over an hour long and quality etc, but for instance Football Weekly can be 45 minutes long and only a 22mb file. BBC’s In our time: 42 minutes 19.5 MB, probably only takes a minute to compress it a little more, with very little loss (if any?) of the sound quality. Other than that it’s become essential listening.
Great podcast but the whole outlook where not only everything the club does is fab, the rest of the teams are horrible, but the home grown players are so much more loyal and put in 100% unlike those dastardly foreigners is pretty off putting – I expect you to be a bit more reasoned than a bunch of bores in the back snug of the pub. The slaughter of Wenger is hilarious in it’s dumbness.
Onwards and upwards chaps
great stuff again just wish you done 2 podcasts a week! keep it up lads
Dubliner, the homegrown comments have to be taken within the context they were said. Players like Henderson, Adam and Downing will view playing for Liverpool as the pinnacle of their career. It is much more likely that Suarez and Enrique would at some point in their career want to play for Real Madrid or Barcelona, not certain as Reina has shown that playing for Liverpool can be the place you want to spend your entire career.
top again as always. there are times when i need a little closed captioning, but trying to figure out what is said with the accents is part of the charm.
Does anyone else find it a touch quiet? I struggle to hear it with headphones on a train. Apart from that, its great, well in.
Ditto
Ant : I understand that it’s just personally I hate that generalisation whereby a foreign player cannot have as much heart & passion and loyalty as ‘homegrown’ players. It’s a patent falsehood to me – from our own perspective we only have to look at Owen, McMananananaman and even ( extremely) Souness. And adding that Aquilani had a gob on during pre-season as some sort of point as to why we got rid is poor too – i’d have a gob on if I was by far the best player in the pre-season and the club were still trying to get rid of me, as they had been for 18 months. Loyalty is a 2 way street.
I like the pod dont get me wrong but this type of thing does my head in ( along with Robbie Savage of course!!)
I actually made the point in the Podcast about the enthusiasm being beaten out of Aquilani by his previous experience at the club.
You did Andy but it sounded like you were the only one that believed it! Though I do have to admit that I am far more perturbed by the club letting AA go than Meireles, as from a personal standpoint AA surely fits into the LFC gameplan more than ever under this management. But that’s another conversation I suppose!.
And I really dont want to come across as a moany old sod because I do enjoy the pod but obviously we don’t all have the same views ( which is a good thing…I think!! )
Great again as always. Don’t find it biased at all, and think most the voices take a very reasoned view of the clubs in the Premier League. Certainly a refreshing contrast to a lot of the unbalanced crap about us in much of the National press.
Stoke for the Europa League!!!
Fantastic podcast lads, made the driving at work today a lot more bearable than the drivel on Radio 1 and the like.
I think it’s a shame that Aquilani didn’t settle properly here as I think he could have been a cracking player for us.
Looking forward to the rest of the season now the internationals are finished for a bit. Let’s hope we can keep some consistency throughout the season. Beating the other big teams on a given day has never been our problem, it’s drawing and losing too many matches to the mid table teams. Even a few seasons ago when we barely lost any league matches, we drew too many and it cost us the title.
Anyway, keep up the good work lads. YNWA.
Loving the podcast, the week seem to go by faster now with something else to look forward to on midweek.
superb. can’t tell you how much i’m enjoying the podcast.
if the rest of the site was available in spoken word form it would make it much more digestible ie i could listen to it while working.
i’m not sure if that’s a practical suggestion i just wanted to say the more the merrier.
Loved the podcast. First time I’ve listened to it. Will definitely become a regular
Hi guys. Really enjoying the podcasts. I wanted to raise the issue of letting both Meireles and AA both leave. I understand the argument of balancing the books and getting value for Meireles, but not the argument for balance on the field, between ball winners and creative midfielders. Everyone was saying that LFC were overloaded with central midfielders but in the game against Stoke yesterday we were badly missing a midfielder with good vision, quick feet and can move the ball quickly. Charlie Adam was struggling, his control and passing was off and he did get a knock for Scotland. Herderson was out of position when he changed with Downing in second half, and he seems to be a kid that thrives on confidence, so misses do not help.
I understand that KK wanted to give Johnson a run out after coming back from injury, but that was also unnecessary, when we are chasing the game. We could have gone 3 at the back as Stoke were not pushing forward at all.
So asking if we will regret selling Miereles. Until Stevie G is back. Maybe
