In order to complete the current season and allow the new one to start on time, the new season should start with the remaining fixtures from this one. Points could count for both seasons. It wouldn’t solve promotion and relegation easily but it would provide a resolution to the premier league title. Promotion and relegation could happen after 9 games of the new season. Relegated and promoted clubs simply swap.
