This episode was absolute garbage! Please point us to ANY time in FSG’s history when they’ve not worked to bring a sporting club they owned to the top. Look at the Florida Marlins, Boston Red Sox, Roush Raceway. Honestly, what was suggested about a lack of ambition is entirely belied by their history. And Rob’s “net spend” argument is rubbish, too. The owners were under no obligation to spend anything from the Torres deal – they could simply have pocketed the money. Spending is spending. And the notion (which seemed a gleeful one to the group) that they could sell LFC for a tidy profit simply isn’t true. They’re no where near recouping what they spent initially (and let’s be honest, they got us for a little under what we were worth, but not “on the cheap” as some suggest) and it’s unlikely that they’d get much more considering our perennial placement on the table of late. You lads seriously need to get a grip.
One thing they were right about, what has changed with Sturridge?
In the last window, Chelsea wanted him gone, we pushed for loan deal.
He has hardly had a kick for Chelsea, but lo and behold, January comes and now we have got him.
And what a difference! we might have been up there with the Mancs.
