Back in 2017 John Gibbons went to Kevin Keegan’s house for a cup of tea and a chat about his autobiography My Life in Football. Although obviously covering his whole career, we focused on his time at Liverpool. where Kevin won three league titles, two UEFA Cups and the FA Cup.
In a wide ranging and lengthy discussion, Kevin talks about what its like making your debut for Liverpool when no one knows who you are, what he thinks was the best Liverpool performance in his time at Anfield and what it’s like when The Kop sings your name for the first time. We also discuss the impact Bill Shankly had on his career, what it was like to become a “brand” and the place Liverpool held in his heart all these years on.
