Players Are Not Robots

by Karl Coppack | Jul 20, 2026 | app, Featured Writing, Footie, Karl Coppack's Column

Whether its ‘just a job’ or means something more, it’s worth remembering the human impact of club treatment and fan behaviour on players…   I’ve been reading Michail Antonio’s autobiography, ‘Humans, Not Robots’ and it’s struck a chord....

World Cup Rule Changes & Liverpool Worries

by Karl Coppack | Jul 7, 2026 | app, Featured Writing, Footie, Karl Coppack's Column

Changing rules during a World Cup is a worrying sign but what’s more concerning to me is Liverpool’s current state of flux…   CHARITY begins at home. So goes the adage. Equally, unmitigated support can only go one way and waking thoughts are...

Liverpool Should Not Chase Lost Causes In The Transfer Market

by Karl Coppack | Jul 1, 2026 | app, Featured Writing, Footie, Karl Coppack's Column

Liverpool can’t afford to chase lost causes in the transfer market as Andoni Iraola prepares to take the club into a new age…   I love how little it takes to change minds. When Yan Diomande’s name came up as a possible sort-of replacement for Mo...

The Joy And Despair Of The World Cup

by Karl Coppack | Jun 22, 2026 | app, Featured Writing, Footie, Karl Coppack's Column

The World Cups of our youth played a huge role in fostering our love for football at its purest. Then we discover football with agendas…   I PLAYED A golden game on Friday night. A golden game is one of those rare occasions where everything you do in a...

by Karl Coppack | Jun 9, 2026 | app, Featured Writing, Footie, Karl Coppack's Column

From Athletic Bilbao to Rayo Vallecano, Iraola’s journey has been shaped by clubs that represent more than football…   Even though I’m far from being an Andoni Iraola expert, there are things I like about him already. I like that he’s from the...

Liverpool’s Rebuild Must Begin With Standards

by Karl Coppack | Jun 1, 2026 | app, Featured Writing, Footie, Karl Coppack's Column

A new era at Liverpool offers the chance to restore the standards, unity and identity that once made the club so formidable…   In 2012 there was a Sky excerpt of Jamie Redknapp returning to Melwood to see the training ground he first visited as a teenage...

Liverpool Need A ‘Day 1’ Reset To Overcome Season

by Karl Coppack | May 26, 2026 | app, Featured Writing, Footie, Karl Coppack's Column

A season which had an eerie resemblance to 2014-15 is finally over for Liverpool. The opportunity to reset must be taken……   In 2015, Sachin Nakrani and I wrote a book, ‘We’re Everywhere, Us’ about the 2014-15 season. Our idea was to carry the flame...

Repairs Required After Booing And Anfield Anger

by Karl Coppack | May 11, 2026 | app, Featured Writing, Footie, Karl Coppack's Column

Not for the first time this season boos could be heard ringing around Anfield. Can this state of affairs really be repaired?…   PEOPLE have lost their minds and I can see why. Anfield is usually expectant and supportive by nature. There’s usually a Day One...

Liverpool Lack Leader In Premier League Wartime Season

by Karl Coppack | May 5, 2026 | app, Featured Writing, Footie, Karl Coppack's Column

In a season full of setbacks, Liverpool manager Arne Slot has demonstrated he’s no Premier League wartime consigliere…   I missed the first eight minutes, which is to say I missed the bit where Liverpool were competitive at 0-0. The narrative of the...

Liverpool has today lost a legend in Kevin Keegan who has tragically passed at the age of 75, Kevin played 323 times and scored 100 goals for Liverpool, winning three league titles, two UEFA Cups and the FA Cup, Kevin will remembered not just for his contributions on the pitch, but for his charisma, warm personality and kind nature.

Back in 2017 John Gibbons went to Kevin Keegan’s house for a cup of tea and a chat about his autobiography My Life in Football. Although obviously covering his whole career, we focused on his time at Liverpool. where Kevin won three league titles, two UEFA Cups and the FA Cup.

In a wide ranging and lengthy discussion, Kevin talks about what its like making your debut for Liverpool when no one knows who you are, what he thinks was the best Liverpool performance in his time at Anfield and what it’s like when The Kop sings your name for the first time.
