Friday Show this week starts with Liverpool vs Tottenham. The game of the week and what could prove to be the game of the season in more ways than one. A definitive result either way would have a massive knock on effect. How will both sides approach the game, especially given they are both off the back of two very different wins?
Paul Duhaney joins us to give the Tottenham perspective before also looking at the rest of the top four picture with second place blown right back open after the midweek results. Arsenal are more than likely out of that but they have been active in January and Jordan Jarrett Bryan joins us to talk through what happens next in North London.

I’ve been wondering re Chelsea whether the ridiculous inflation of transfer fees and wages has got to the point where Abramavich isn’t able to just go out and buy the best players year on year (and otherwise their revenue is comparable to ours). His total net worth is around 7 billion, which is a lot, but to spend big these days means hundreds of millions, which I reckon he would start to notice if he kept on doing it.
@Tom C Good point. It always seems easy with most supporters that think Chelsea can always provide a blank cheque.
Man City pay the inflated prices so they get their targets usually, but with the Mahrez deal, if it is as the media reports, then they too seem to have some threshold on spending, besides looking at whether or not the player is even worth that to begin with.
LFC just don’t seem to pay that on any given day, but we’ve seen the club spend ridiculous almost criminl sums on players that makes me wonder about how negotiations are managed.
Giroud is an underrated squad player. He’s been the best goal getting sub in the league since he joined. He both allows a team to go direct & is an exceptionally good pivot for speedsters & tricksters to run off of. Not elite, but doesn’t get the respect he’s earned.
2nd placed Porto play 4th placed Braga. And Monaco v Lyon looks even better than Atleti v Valencia. Lemar is a doubt, but Fekir is a big game player. Mon the weekend & up the Reds!
