TAW contributors with talking points straight from the ground after Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Everton.

Trent Alexander-Arnold

Wish Trent scored. @jsexton24

Was on the pitch if he bagged. @PhilBlundell

Dejan Lovren

Dejan Lovren what a performance. @PaulSenior1

Think he’s probably man of the match without Phil’s contribution. @jsexton24

Lucas Leiva

Thought Lucas was incredible. Don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone win as many balls as him. @PhilBlundell

So good in the air. @PaulSenior1

Lucas was absolutely brilliant. @C_Hannan7

The Ev

They’re shite. It’s not that they don’t turn up, it’s a simple thing about quality. We have more and it was so obvious. @PaulSenior1

Ha ha ha, mings. @Benjanijohnson

Little Phil

Hope that’s Phil back to his best now, had their defence on skates in that first half. @jsexton24

He had that kid on toast. @johngibbonsblog

Mane Fears

Mane injury doesn’t sound good. That could be him for the season. @RobGutmann

Conclusion

It’s hard enough for them to come to our place and win at the best of times as their abysmal record at Anfield shows. But when their manager gives it a big ‘we’re not afraid’ shout before the game, and we’re paying tribute to a genuine legend in Ronnie Moran during it, the team talk was done. If you’re not motivated in those circumstances for a derby you never will be. They couldn’t live with us. They were never in it. The Reds did Ronnie proud. Town. @robbohuyton

Was worried coming into the game about midfield intensity with no Lallana, and no Henderson. Thought we found a different way to play. We just let our quality win and the three goals are all a product of that. Lovren, Can, Mignolet and Lucas all have critics, but came up with the goods. Can’t help but think after these last four points we are now in driving seat for top four. @PaulSenior1
