Heart And Fight

Thought the Reds were fantastic there, to be honest — loads of heart and fight, but quality too. City know they’ve been in a game there. @robbohuyton

We’ll point to certain situations where we could have done better but they will too. We were in a tough game and held our own. They battled tough and nearly did the business. A point at City never a bad result. @johngibbonsblog

Mixing It With The Best

Nice to be able to go and mix it at these places though, isn’t it? He could lose every top six away for the next three years and still have outdone Rafa Benitez on these types of games and he’s only had one full season of them. @PhilBlundell

Klopp’s record against the top seven in all comps now reads played 24, won 12, drawn 11, lost one. It’s not a bad base for good days to come, is it? @robbohuyton

The Midfield

Emre Can was an absolute beast in midfield. Well impressed with him today. Getting his foot in, getting his body in, but putting us on the front foot as well. The midfield in general was superb — Lallana working his balls off, loads of quality from Wijnaldum, who apparently can’t play away from home… We just need to add a few more quality wise for options off the bench. @robbohuyton

Can and Wijnaldum were brilliant, Firmino too wasteful and everything we do this summer should be directed at beefing this squad up and finding solutions as to how we stop conceding two-three goals in these away games against shite teams. @PhilBlundell

Gini Wijnaldum

Just found myself thinking about Gini loads. What the fuck was he doing fucking about at Newcastle? @johngibbonsblog

He’s amazing. @C_Hannan7

Mad innit. He won the league as PSV captain and then ended up at those dickheads. @PhilBlundell

Opposition Reaction

Pep Guardiola is describing it as one of the happiest days of his life as a manager! @robbohuyton

The Conclusion

Fucking exhausting, that. @PaulSenior1
